How could you give this place less than 5 stars?? Selection, sure. Quality, yes. Knowledge, outstanding, but it's the friendliness and customer service that earns my "5". I always stop in on our way from California to Sisters. This is the way to run a business. Thanks Ty and Jared..

I supposed that it depends which sales person that you end up with, but having patronized the fly shops in Bend, I would highly recommend Confluence Fly Shop. In most fly shops when you ask for local info., they push to sell you flies (understandable). At Confluence, when I asked about local conditions and lakes where I could fish and my wife could swim, Tye was very helpful and even Google Maps the places that he suggested. He suggested flies when I asked him, without leading me to the flies. There was never any sales pressure, just friendly conversation while trying to help me. Truly a step above the normal experience.

Some fishing friends and I booked with DCO for a 4 day guided steelheading trip on the mighty Deschutes back in 2016. Jeremiah and Matt were the best guides anyone in our group had ever had. The guys were always ready with a casting tip, witty banter, and when the time came and a chrome was in the net, a bottle of New Basin Strong whiskey to celebrate. It was an experience I'll remember for the rest of my life.

These guys were super helpful both over the phone and in person when calling around to find the best fishing gloves for my husband. I was turned off by a few other shops as they were not very helpful and made me feel stupid with my questions.
