Sunrise retirement home are not an honest business. First, they will charge your parent an expensive but reasonable monthly rent for a retirement home. But after a few months they will be increasing the rent month after month after month to almost double the original monthly rent. Of course, it's very hard to move your fragile parent at this point, you just continue paying whatever they ask. This is not fair at all and inhumane. You have been informed.
We are very pleased with all the staff at Sunrise of Erin Mills. My mom really enjoys being here. We recommend this place to all who are looking for a great reliable place!! The whole team is very friendly!!
At 89, having spent nearly 3 months in hospital suffering from the effects of Covid, then moved to a rehab facility to help her walk again, I, and my siblings decided to move my mom to an assisted living facility. After extensive research of all the facilities in the GTA we decided on sunrise Of Erin Mills on friend’s recommendation, positive reviews, plus the zoom interviews with the management during the Covid pandemic. It was a big step for my mom, as well as for us her children. Coming from a middle eastern culture leaving your mom in a nursing home is like abandoning your child, and going on with your life. Needless to say it was the best decision taken. The first two weeks were difficult for my mom, and for us, but the care givers , nurses, managers, even the chefs were amazing. Everyone was so sympathetic, caring, loving, and very professional at the same time. They made her feel special, loved and family. Fast forward 3 months later, my mom is a different person, independent, happy can walk again with the assistance of a walker, thanks to the occupational therapist and excercise she gets on a weekly bases. A doctor checks on her, medications are administered to her daily, all her needs are looked after. The food is fantastic and the menue changes daily. It’s like living in a five star hotel. What more can we ask for if your loved one is happy in such a place and environment then we definitely recommend to all, I’d recommend it to myself if I get to that age I can never thank Sunrise of Erin Mills staff, and volunteers enough, for taking care of my mom. We moved my Dad in from his home less than 2 months ago . This was such a hard time for our family . Sunrise has been so wonderful to our family but mostly to my Dad. There is always activities going on for my Dad to be a part of . We are so lucky they had a spot for us when we were in a crisis . All the staff have been so kind and welcoming to us . I am so thankful that we found a safe place for my Dad .
It was extremely difficult to move my mom out of her home and to bring her to Sunrise of Erin Mills. It did take her some time to adjust but she has settled in there - as much as she can. She has amazing Caregivers and has formed a strong bond with them. The staff at Sunrise of Erin Mills are the heart of the home. They go out of their way to help and make you feel comfortable. One particular caregiver goes out of her way to do extra little things for my mom to make her feel special. That means the world to me knowing she would take an extra interest in mom to make her feel comfortable. Any interaction I have had with staff has been very positive. Any questions or suggestions have been answered or addressed quickly. I have always felt welcome and feel everyone goes out of their way to get to know the residents and their family. I do feel there is a real sense of team spirit - which is so needed now. This has been a difficult year for everyone but I have felt relieved to know my mom is safe and well cared for at Sunrise of Erin Mills. I cannot say enough to support everyone there!
I cannot express how grateful we are to all of the coordinated Sunrise teams for their support and care through what has been a very difficult time for my family. My father-in-law always wanted to stay in his home, and at 90 he had a health event where his independence deteriorated quickly. He moved into Sunrise directly from the hospital and we had to find care for him quickly. We had researched this in advance and knew Sunrise was our top choice. They have not let us down once. They provided excellent, and personal, service and care right from day 1 from their sales and marketing team arranging for move-in and setting up a care plan, through to their personalized care team. They helped us to navigate the public health system and quickly arranged conferences and communication between the hospital team, public LHIN coordinators, and Sunrise health care team nurses, psw, physician. To Sunrise of Erin Mills - thank you. To any prospective resident or family member, our experience has been so positive and I confidently provide my recommendation.
When I used to be employed here even though I can't recall for how many months exactly it was, I strongly dislike the way management handles situations at this location. Worked in the kitchen after getting hired by the kitchen manager and all I can say is the man has no idea what he's doing, he goes by the name of Albert. Had the audacity to terminate me because I had tried getting my point across while holding in my frustration because I was so eager to work there. The training I received there was properly done and I enjoyed getting to know the other employees also working in the kitchen, as well as the seniors living in the building. I wouldn't waste my time here again or see anyone else go through the same situation as me, but if anyone does make sure you know what you're getting involved with and that the individuals operating the building don't cheap you out.
When the time came for Mom to move from the home that her and Dad shared for over 40 years, I toured many senior's residences in Mississauga. After very careful consideration we decided upon Sunrise and couldn't be happier with our choice! The level of care that she has received has been outstanding. The facilities are beautiful and well maintained. The home is very well run. All team members have been professional, caring and compassionate. Staff in all areas are available for discussions regarding changes to Mom's needs and are always willing to to put forth the extra effort to ensure that Mom is comfortable and happy. The entire team feels like part of an extended family and I am extremely grateful for everything they do on a daily basis to ensure the health , happiness and well being of Mom and all residents. They are all doing an exceptional job especially during Covid. Thank you Sunrise of Erin Mills!
My mother has been living at Sunrise of Erin Mills for 9 years. It was difficult getting her to move from her home of 65 years, however once she was at Sunrise she was so happy!! I was relieved, no more worrying about mom, she was in a safe and very caring community!! My mom will be 100 on April 17th, I contribute her longevity to her genes but I also thank Sunrise for her wonderful care!
My dad has recently moved in to Sunrise Erin Mills and we couldn’t be happier with the staff and level of care he is receiving. The urgent need to move into an assisted living facility has been incredibly difficult on all of us, particularly my dad, and the staff have done everything they can to make our transition a smooth one. He requires a great deal of care and it puts our minds at ease to know he is in such caring hands. Thank you to Duarte and his team at Sunrise for handling this very difficult time with such warmth and compassion.
