St. Peter's is a fine, well run church. My brother was married by Reverend Canon Jennifer Reid there, my parents attended, my nephew and niece were baptized there, and they offered counseling when my mother died. Old, old church. I saw a gravestone dating back to 1825 there, there's probably older ones I didn't get the chance to see. I was surprised to learn that they aren't a Heritage site, but if that happens, then they aren't allowed to do improvements, which would impede them from keeping it in proper shape. I hope it stands for even more centuries. :
Thanks to Rev. Maria and everyone who made us feel very special and helped us with everything. No complaints at all. The Service was superb, the Homily was fantastic. St. Peter's Church is one of the most beautiful Churches I've seen here.
Not being a regular church goer perhaps has me thinking differently. I appreciate the architecture, and the gentleman rubbing operations for the place kindly showed me Oscar Peterson's grave which though odd, I very much appreciated. Good people, were very accommodating while we shot the last scenes for our web series here.
I am from Kolkata, India. I am a Hindu, but in our home country, which is truly secular, I studied in a Christian school, went to Church whenever I sought God, but never ever felt the need to convert or anything. I just felt close to God in any serene place, be it a church, gurdwara, temple or mosque. I found this church beautiful and walked in one day, struck by its serenity. Suddenly one memebr came up yo me and asked me quite rudely the purpose of my visit Then she categorically asked me "am I not a Hindu"? Shocked for almost 5 years, today I find the strength to write this review.
Yesterday I visited the cemetery beside the church while looking for the Erindale Cosmopolitan cemetery which shares the property with St. Peter's. I stopped and looked at the grave site of a famous jazz pianist. A man who was watering approached and asked me what I was doing. I told him my wife and I are searching out prospective burial plots. He told me emphatically that this cemetery was for church members only and directed me toward the Cosmo cemetery attached to the church's. He asked me if I was a photographer trying to sell photos of the grave stones. I assured him I was not. Today, my wife and I returned so she could see the beautiful church cemetery and were greeted by a church warden by the name of James. He said we were more than welcome to view the grounds and provided information concerning the history of the church and how it's one of the most populated congregations in all of the diocese. We were both impressed with this gentleman and spent about an hour strolling the cool grounds which offered us a respite from the hot August day. It was beautiful and so peaceful you ignored the traffic on Dundas St. below. St. Peter's does have a sign with rules regarding photography requesting you be respectful and the entrance to the Cosmo cemetery is by another path at the bottom of the hill just off Mississauga Rd. So ends a tale of two days and as Shakespeare said, "All's well that Ends well."
Beautiful church. Located at the top of the hill. Had the opportunity to visit during a university-based project. Also, this was the place where they mysteriously filmed some movie scenes years ago. Lots of talk at uni when the filming project. Friend scored a pic and sure enough - Emma Watson was nearby! Fun times.
Our violin and cello duo performed a beautiful wedding ceremony here on May 11, 2013 alongside the church organist. Everything was wonderful and the bride and groom were very happy.
Stunning very old church in Erindale. The carpentry is beautiful , as is the stained glass. The ministry is more modern than it had been and the Minister is a female. I would recommend this church.
Pretty amazing church in Mississauga
Beautiful historical church, at times I go there to think. Early in the morning you can see a heard of deer in the cemetery, I guess I just feel closer to God in this spot at times.
