This place is a nightmare!!! I come often as I have many health conditions and this place is wild. There's no one over the age of 40 taking care of your medical issues. No empathy and compassion. They couldn't care less if you lived or died. They get paid either way!!! I was subject to human testing for 2.5 weeks just to be told I have a preexisting illness we already knew about! I felt like a human rat in a cage.
Went there because I was having really bad headaches and nausea sat there for six hours told them each time that my headaches were increasing. I’ve tried taking Advil Tylenol ibuprofen nothing works so I thought maybe I would just go. I spoke to two doctors and they diagnosed me with completely different things that I that I’ve already had in this feels nothing Like that in the past and the ER for six hours for the girl to tell me OK when every time my headaches were increasing to the point that I felt like I was going to faint. I dealt with these headaches for almost 3 weeks with no diagnosis on what could help stop them or anything. I literally had a breakdown in front of the doctor for her to tell me to leave.
Terrible experience at emerg, literally just needed vitals checked during an accident and they abused the shit out of me with ridiculous lies to my friends and family and denying me basic rights like my own clothes when I'm not being admitted. Until the staff up better and change their policies you're better off going to literally any other hospital.
The Blond receptionist was so rude. Passed multiple racial comments.nnI highly discourage visiting Saint Joseph Hospital, particularly for pregnant women, due to the incredibly negative and unwelcoming environment. During my visit, I encountered a receptionist who was not only rude but also made racist comments, which left me feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. The lack of professionalism and courtesy was alarming, and it’s clear that there is little regard for creating a positive, supportive atmosphere for patients. For pregnant women, the stress and discomfort of encountering such negativity can have a real emotional impact. The hospital's environment fosters more stress than comfort, and given how important it is for expectant mothers to feel safe and cared for, I cannot recommend this place. There are many other healthcare facilities that prioritize kindness, respect, and professionalism—unfortunately, Saint Joseph Hospital does not meet these basic standards.
We took our toddler, who was wheezing, to this emergency center. After waiting an extremely long time, going through triage and X-rays, we were asked why we didn’t go to McMaster. The doctor informed us that this is an adult hospital and they don’t have the facilities to conduct further tests on a babynnIf that’s the case, they should have informed us right away instead of making us wait for such an unreasonable amount of time. What a wasteful experience. I had no idea they couldn’t treat toddlers!!
