Great experience with Landon in the Skate department. Very knowledgeable young man who assisted my wife and I selecting a new pair of skates each. Was very patient as we tried on a few types of skates. When we selected a nice pair he had them sharpened up and ready in 10 minutes. Could not be happier
BUYER BEWARE - when shopping on line with Sport Chek they are now forcing buyers to have products shipped to their home for which they are charging shipping if the value is under $90. Given I didn't want to purchase more than the $48 item I was interested in I paid the shipping and handling fee which note, they also charged me taxes on. When the item I purchased did not work out and I returned it to the store, they refused to reimburse any of the shipping, handling and taxes. I would have gladly chosen to have the item shipped to their store at no cost and would have gone and picked it up but this was not an option that the online system would support. They force you to pay the shipping and don't expect a refund for this charge if your item doesn't work out and you need to return it. Overall, very poor customer experience. Won't be shopping on line with Sports Chek in the future.
I hadn't played hockey in 15 years and needed a stick. I was wandering the aisles when an employee came up and asked if I needed a hand. His name was Josh and he went above and beyond for me. He went through all the racks of sticks looking for the best value for money, close to the curve that matched the wood stick I brought. He explained the different flex's etc and what I should go for. I left more informed and extremely happy. Well done Josh!
Nice store layout with many departments and varying brands with something for all ages from clothing, footwear, seasonal fashion, to sport equipment and nutritional supplements. Sister store to Atmosphere. Loyalty program is Canadian Tire's Triangle so don't forget to collect the points!
Peter is the most helpful employee in hard goods. Helped us find the best ski boots and was very educated on the type of skis we needed for the terrain we ski. Very informative, will be back! Thank you Peter!
Taylor in the ski department was beyond helpful and knowledgeable! He gave me partner and I a ton of knowledge about what we needed as we are both beginners. Very thankful for his assistance.
I was in today to buy some figure skates and one of the boys in the hockey department was extremely rude and was not willing to help me with figure skates. He proceeded to make remarks about figure skates. Will never go back again 0/5 stars
My experience at this store left me disappointed. The customer service is wanting. The first instance was when I was purchasing helmets I had seen online and were available in the store. I show the sales associate what I wished to purchase, and he says he will check in the back. I wait there for quite some time. The guy never returns. I later see him wandering on the store floor. I get another associate who assists in retrieving the items. The second instance is when I had to return one helmet to exchange with a larger size. I also needed to get a pair of skates. It took a while to get the right fit, but once I did, I brought my items to the till only to realize I brought the wrong helmet box from home for the exchange. Furthermore, the skates needed sharpening, and the store was closing. So, I had to come back the next day. The lady told me she will put the items on hold for me for a day, and she collected my information. When I went the following evening, the items weren't on hold. Pretty disappointing because I had to go back shopping for them, and no apologies or explanation offered. I wish they told me they don't put items on hold if that is their policy instead of promising something and not doing it. If I ever need something again, I'd rather look at other stores before opting for Sportscheck.
I am extremely disappointed with this Sports Check location. At 2:00pm today I brought my mother to Sports Check to shop for new shoes for her mothers day gift, shortly after we found her shoes I decided to keep browsing for clothes. My little sister went up to the till to buy a water bottle and was carrying the shoes. The Manager was rude to my 12 year old sister because she said she wasn't buying the shoes. When she explained I was buying them he got mad. Shortly after I walked up to the till and asked the woman what the man's name was and she said 'my manager?' I said yes and she replied with '" I dont know". I looked her in the eyes and said 'you don't know your managers name?' She then responded with 'its not my job to know, I only work here a few days'. We waited approximately 10 minutes for him to come talk to us but he didn't show up so we asked another employee what his name was and was told his name was Aiden. This isnt the first time I have gone to this location and the same man was rude and dismissive. I felt as though I was an inconvenience when paying for my items. No smiles, no one asks if I found everything ok. Just plops the receipt on the items and nothing more. I would like to mention that aside from these 2 individuals I normally have an ok experience and didnt have any complaints.
Sandi is wonderful. My husband has special requirements for running shoes as he has Rhumetoid Arthritis. We had been to so many shoe stores before seeing Sandi at Sports Chek. She knew exactly the type of shoe that would be best for him. We very much appreciated her expertise.
