Highly recommend! The food were sooooo good! We had lunch even the time was short. But the place was full of people. Their dried beef rice noodle is the best! So far we tried all Dim Sim in Ottawa. This is the number one for sure. The customer service was good. The owner and server always nice and with their cool service style. The stylish more like HK style. We will def go back to have another great time there!
A really authentic Hongkong style restaurant! I'm a loyal customer of here! Lots of dishes remind me of the days in southern China. Definitely a worth-to-try restaurant!
Finally got to try their dine-in last night, I’ve ordered from them quite a few times via UberEats in the past. Service was great! They offer authentic HK style dishes. Their evening set meals include a soup of your choice & unlimited rice if you pick 2 dishes from that menu. Would recommend!
I have been coming to this restaurant for over 30 years. A typical Hong Kong style eatery. It has been and still is the ONLY Chinese restaurant on Somerset I will go to. If you just feel like an afternoon tea, you can order HK style milk tea here, with a fried donut or a fried bread stick. But Cafe Orient offers a HUGE menu, from dim sum to all kinds of noodles and rices, and all kinds of meat dishes. During dinner time, you can order from Set Menu and it comes with soup and rice. Today my sister and I started with the HK Milk Tea with a fried donut. Then we ordered some fried wontons with sweet red sauce. For dinner, we ordered Eggplant/tofu in garlic sauce, and a Sesame Chicken. We also had a Stir-fried rice noodles with shrimps and scrambled egg sauce. Delicious. We had plenty leftovers to take home. Very very satisfying.
My husband and I loved this place. amazing customer service and delicious food for vegetarians! Waitresses were two old ladies who were very attentive to our order and asked us about allergies. They were quite busy only 2 waitresses but made sure everyone gets proper care. Also their toilet has this auto seat cleaner which was impressive to me as I have not seen such thing in restaurants washrooms though I felt the hook for female washroom was missing to hang bags or anything. Overall, great experience in Ottawa !
Always good food at Cafe Orient. I’ve dined at Cafe Orient multiple times. Their shanghai dumpling is a must have, along with some other dim sums! Their fish fillet with creamy corn was very delicious, I would recommend to others.
I love this place. It has that grandma made food vibe and never disappoints. Its a Hong Kong style Chinese food and probably the best congee in Ottawa. Extremely fast service and the ladies are very hospitable. An institution of Cantonese food in Ottawa.Food: 5/5
I have been visiting to this restaurant a while now. Every time I go, I try different things as they have huge menu with varieties of dishes and they never disappointed me. The food are so delicious and reasonable price. It’s small place with full of customers all the time. Highly recommended.
Cafe Orient serves Hong Kong style Chinese food. I've been coming here for years. I really do enjoy their wide selection of dishes to try from. I have many pictures but not sure where the rest are but I'll update with more pictures since I know I will be back. Plenty of parking, normally don't have to wait as they have enough tables from my experience. They also serve dim sum here. I have to many favourite dishes so I would recommend you to try everything on the menu once and see what you like.
After my first visit, I’m quite delighted. I was missing my hometown HK café, so I thought I’d give Cafe Orient a try. I ordered Savoury Triangles… You know the football shaped Dim Sum, and based on the server’s recommendation, spicy diced chicken with peanuts. Both arrived very hot, and after walking home, they were still very hot. The chicken in my main tasted so fresh, but I wish there were more/different veg. The spicy sauce was actually spicy! A rarity for me, a white girl. The football dumplings were totally on par with my high expectations, and are quite filling. I’ll be back with friends and family and myself :-!
