Guildford location. Worst shoe store I have been to. 2 employees stayed behind the counter chatting and minding their own business. I waved for help but got ignored. Went to the counter and asked for a size and was called to pick them up from the counter. I have never experienced this kind of customer service before. No greeting and no thank you after the purchase. You need better employees.
Bought some shoes there to wear to a wedding coming up this weekend. The store wasn't busy but I still had to ask for service. Then when the girl came over she didn't seem to know how to use the foot measuring device, nor did she seem to care. She decided I was a size 9, even though I had said 8 1/2, brought me the size 9 in the two styles I had chosen then disappeared. Of course they were too large so I had to ask for service again. The styles I had chosen didn't come in an 8 1/2 so tried an 8 but neither fit. So I chose another style and had to ask for service a 3rd time. This time it was another girl that served me and she was more attentive and very friendly, the kind of worker one would expect. Finally found what I wanted but I would not be in a rush to shop at this store again..
Buyer beware- if you order an item and they inform you afterwards it will not be available in time for Christmas, do not expect a full refund as promised. Staff told me to purchase the item in stock at another store and cancel my online order and now customer service will not provide me with a full refund or cancel the online order. Be prepared to be talked down to by rude staff at their "customer service" number who do not care if you ever buy anything from them again. Thankfully there are plenty of other stores that offer similar products so I will not have to.
Incredibly incompetent staff, they do not know what they are talking about half of the time. Go anywhere else or any other location. They can’t do the most basic of things. Guildford softmoc is so poorly run in comparison to other locations. I would choose to go to another location over this one. This isn’t even a Christmas time issue, it’s year around. Furthermore, don’t even bother trying to call I swear their phone must be broken I called 11 times the other day, and another softmoc location called them multiple times to put an item aside for me. They told me they sent them a chat message after they couldn’t get a hold of Guildford softmoc. Train your staff better.
I purchased a pair of boots last night to see they were ripped I was told I could return them only with the receipt, which I forgot at the home where I was staying. So I suggested some reimbursement so I could go get them fixed and they declined it however they offered if I wanted to drive around to different SoftMoc stores they would give me the addresses instead of just calling to get a paired brought back into this store as I'd have to pay for them all over again and then go back with these ones and the receipt. After driving for 15 hours I don't think so thanks for your inconsiderate accommodations on your torn boots. I was also told because I had a $40 discount that they weren't able to help me I'm more of a discount or else I'd have to cash in the $40 discount and use it out of that. How ridiculous and she said she spoke to her district manager. Sorry but this will be the last time ever shopping at the softmac again.
The workers were very helpful and the store was very organized so I could find what I needed pretty quickly.
I was looking online for a pair of sandals in narrow width. The Guildford Soft Moc store showed they had them in stock. I went to the store and asked the employee for them, she went and looked and said they didn't have any in stock. I asked if she could order them for me and have them delivered to the store as I was going out of town. She took a long time to input the order, I paid for them and left the store. I was home an hour later and in the mean time the store had called to say my shoes were in. Obviously they had them in stock. On my way home from my trip I took a detour to the mall to pick up my shoes, only to find out there were regular width and not narrow. I explained to the employee that they were supposed to be narrow width. The employee responded saying she's never heard of birkenstock coming in narrow width. I explained to her that I was wearing a pair. She went into the back to get another store employee. This employee actually was very good and proceeded to refund my shoes and order the correct ones for delivery.
Worst customer service I’ve experienced in a long time. No help whatsoever to help find me find steel toe shoes. I found one pair on my own and she couldn’t find the size. Then I see that they have 3 other styles which she did not offer that info. No size 8 in any?? Odd. There were about 4 employees and only myself as a customer yet I felt like I was bothering them. Never will I go back to spend $200+ at this location. Get new employees that actually care!
I love the shoes that I buy there! Always well-made, sturdy, very comfortable, my favorite colors, practical and stylish! Wonderful, courteous service! The prices are a bit higher than at Wallmart, etc, but well-worth the price in durability and comfort! I have been wearing the same pairs of shoes for several years and they still look good!
I bought my shoes10 mins before I went to work, I did not check them carefully on the bottom. I bring them home and tried them and they were uncomfortable. I decided to bring them back and exchange for other comfortable pairs. Came back a day later to do the exchanfe and they told me the shoes worn out. They compare my shoes with the display which has the same marks on them but they still did not let me exchange the shoes. I would not go back to this store.
