Soc Trang Viet Submarine

This little Vietnamese sub place came recommended from a local group for its banh mi and salad rolls. We ordered the chicken satay banh mi, pork and shrimp salad rolls, with coconut bubble tea and lychee jelly. The banh mi is huge, with lots of toppings jalapeños, cilantro, pickled carrot, cucumber and a generous portion of chicken satay filling. The bubble tea was mixed very well and so dense, with the lychee jelly at the bottom. All affordable price-wise compared to other places, and the owner is doing it all by herself but still has the sweetest and most kind attitude while running to and fro. It’s a little shop on Centre Street that is easily missed due to the construction on the exterior of the building; call in a pickup order today!

Enjoyed this little small and clean shop for Viet subs. Everything is made fresh to order and the lady who works here is very nice and efficient. The bread here stands unique that it's toasted but crisp to dough to freshness ratio works out very well to the contents that come with the banh mi. The subs go from $7.50-8.50. They also serve some rice dishes and salad rolls here. There is bbt and Viet coffee also offered here for a decent price but did not try on my end this time. Would recommend the standard cold cut style - can't go wrong with this choice. Watch out for jalapeno slices inside let them know if you don't want it in there. Glad to know there's a good banh mi spot on center st now.

Amazing vietnamese subs in a small shop. As other reviewers have mentioned, the lady at the counter was very friendly and accommodating for allergies/anything you don't want in your sub like jalapenos. Will be back to try more of the subs in the future.Food: 5/5

WOW am I glad we stumbled on this place! My sister and I were looking for someplace close to our AirBnB for a small dinner and are now making this a go-to spot for roadtrips. Soc Trang is only a handful of months old, located on Centre St and surrounded by other, much more dazzling, restaurant storefronts. Whatever you do: don't let that fool you. This place was AMAZING, and not only was all of it delicious, it was AFFORDABLE. The sub ingredients were fresh and flavourful. The shrimp rolls held together perfectly, crunchy and soft in all the right ways. The peanut sauce was outstanding! The bubble tea was delicious, especially the tapioca. I don't think I've had better tapioca pearls anywhere. I wish I lived in Calgary to be able to enjoy this every week!

Friendly lady in the counter. And one of the best sub I have ever tasted. and bigger than your regular viet sub. Affordable prices. My wife loved their shrimp rice rolls, the dipping sauce they used is flavorful. I went there on a Sunday so I just parked along the side streets but it will be challenging in a busy day.

I eat a LOT of Vietnamese in this city. I love Banh mi. I don't kid when I say this is easily one of the best this city has to offer. Top 5 for sure, possibly even top 3. Great crunch in the bread, lots of amazing flavour, could use a wee bit more meat to balance it out but overall I was very happy. The ladies working there know their customers well. There were a lot of regulars coming in. So the place was busy. That being said having been my first and second time I didn't feel I was getting the same love the regulars got, and felt slightly ignored beyond talking my order. Maybe the more I go the better that will become. Also to be clear, that in no way affects the quality of the food. Still highly recommend eating here! Wonderful experience overall. If you like good Banh mi, you'll like it here

I think they used to have a shop in Forest Lawn but this one is centrally located. It’s a small shop and not really meant to eat in but there are some seats inside for you to dine in. The subs here are amazing, the buns have a crunch on the outside but soft on the inside. You get your usual fillings with carrots, cucumber and cilantro BUT they also have onions and jalapeños which is why I come here vs other places. Price point was great, I ordered the veggie tofu satay sub and am already looking forward to coming back.

Exceptional service and food! The lady working was so friendly and polite! We both ordered the cold cut subs and shrimp salad rolls and everything was super fresh and delicious. Very large portion size for what you pay. I personally think the subs are under priced. Would for sure recommend this place and we will be back for sure!Food: 5/5

One of the best banh mi I’ve had in a long time! High recommend getting the beef satay and the house special. The prices are reasonable and competitive with other banh mi places around the city. Bread is perfectly toasted and not too dry like others I’ve had in Calgary. The lady taking our order was so nice as well! I also got the iced coffee and it had a great strong coffee taste, very authentic!! Please go support this place!!

The best sub I've ever had.....period. the lady behind the counter was the most friendly lady I've met in a long time. Everything feels home made. Chicken sate spring rolls were just amazing. Will be back again and again and again.Food: 5/5
