My first time eating Vietnamese fusion cuisine. Some of the dishes work well and others were interesting let's say. I definitely enjoyed the drinks and desserts here. The appetizer and mains were overall good. They did a great job with the ambiance and decor. The location is a bit sketchy and the parking lot behind the restaurant is quite crowded. The server was quick and friendly. I think it's a must try at least once and see if you are a fan or not.
Lovely little place with great food and kind servers! Tried egg coffee and fried quail for the first time. I enjoyed the spices and sauce for the quail. My lemongrass chicken vermicelli bowl was great and overall I had a good time at Mot To! Hope to be back soon to try things like the bone marrow and their cocktails.
Love the atmosphere and kind staff with amazing food! Spring roll had a crispy thing inside and was new to me but delicious. I've been trying peanut satay beef noodle soup everywhere I go and this was amazing! it was so addicting that I'll definitely come back again. However, the vermicelli looked small compared to other places and our friends were saying the same thing. But overall good!
Saw people recommended this newly open Viet restaurant so decided to give it a try. Food is so tasty. Strongly recommend the bone marrow, and cheese pho, its very creative to combine western food with oriental food. Restaurant is fresh decorated and staff is very friendly and helpful. Will love to come back again to try more dishes
Best Vietnamese food ever!!! We had spicy sate soup, spicy lemongrass soup,fried quail, spring roll with crab and pork, and for dessert banana fritter. So delicious !! This is my new favorite. Pho place. Broth was so flavorful. I will be back !! A must try!! They even have a free parking lot in back !!
I read about Mot To in Avenue Magazine's 10 best new restaurants and decided to check it out with my family. The place was hopping for a Wednesday night always a good sign and we were warmly welcomed by the hostess. The ambiance was lively with great music not too loud and cool decor. We started with pork spring rolls and papaya salad, which were both fresh and delicious. Then all three of us had pho spicy peanut/sate for my husband and I, and regular for our daughter. We all enjoyed it very much. We finished with Vietnamese churros and a mango sticky rice. The portions were very large for most everything. We practically waddled out from over eating, but it was too good to stop. The menu was very well marked for those with dietary restrictions, which I always appreciate. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu and determine our mot to favourite bowl! Kid-friendliness: Lots of kids and kid-friendly Vietnamese food. Parking: Plenty of free parking in the adjacent lot. Dietary restrictions: Menu is well marked with many gluten free and vegetarian options.
Don't be discouraged by the unassuming façade, and have a great surprise inside. Because Mot To ranked top places to eat in Calgary I couldn't miss it, and made a reservation right away. It can get full quickly. Staff is awesome and the food lives up to the hype. I had a delicious oxtail pho and crispy pork rolls, accompanied by a scrumptious meat and cheese melt sandwich that comes with a broth dip. Price is fair. Come hungry because the portions are generous.
My wife asked to come here for lunch one day. I think she saw some advertising that Mot To was newly open. The former business was a pho place too if I recall. The restaurant was very well spaced out and the interior design was bright and clean. My wife ordered the Bone Marrow, the Oxtail Stew Pho, and the Crab and Tomato Soup. She also grabbed an Iced Coffee. We enjoyed the Bone Marrow. It was rich and the accompanying bread worked well with it. The Oxtail Stew Pho was rich and packed with flavor. The pho noodles were standard, but the Oxtail meat was tender and yummy. My wife said her Crab and Tomato Soup was decent and tasted as it should. This is another great pho joint in Calgary.
This new restaurant replaced the traditional Vietnamese restaurant that my family loved. Naturally I was not too pleased with this restaurant thinking it was just another restaurant setup for IG, and food comes secondary. The food turned out to be above average when compared to a few of the Vietnamese restaurants up north. The special pho' s tendon and tripe were carefully cut to make them more crunchy. The soup had the distinct taste the Vietnamese broth should have. My only complaint were the usual condiment sweet and hot sauce were given in small dish, I like my hot sauce. Also the little chill was missing from the sprout. The place was clean and trendy, you would pay for it. A normal special pho that can be had for $13.95 costs you $17.00 here. $8 for 3 pieces of spring roll.
First time coming in with my wife. Nice atmosphere very modern and cozy. The food was exceptionally tasty. I was caught by surprise by the spice of the Satay Mot To special. Not hating it still very very tasty. We will be back again keep it up .
