Skimmerhorn Inn

Although the website says pet friendly, the host was reluctant to allow our cat to stay. The person with a dog in line in front of us was welcomed with open arms. We explained that we were staying due to an evacuation order in our village and therefore the cat. Not sure what the difference is in hosting a dog versus a cat. Also the tub drained very slowly and one of the tv remotes did not work. Other than that, the stay was good.

We stayed at this hotel with a school team.nOn arrival no one was in the office, someone eventually drove in from 5 minutes away to check us in.Our bus driver was late because she was also driving another team. On arrival our driver could not get in her room and could not get anyone to help her, she knocked on the door of the office and the adjoining house but no one would come to the door despite being able to see people were home.nShe eventually went to another hotel. When the team checked out, again the office was closed. The Skimmerhorn is refusing to refund us for the unused room.nnThe players on our team found the rooms dirty, with hair clogging the drain in the shower and the mattresses stained.

Not sure why anyone is rating this motel well….the non-smoking rooms all continually smell of cigarettes, the bathroom door does not have a lock, the wi-fi doesn’t work well, and the price is more than double what it should be. The owners live on-site, but don’t speak English well at all. If you can afford to stay anywhere else, do that.

Mold all over the room, the owner is rude, you have to schedule times to use the back yard from time of start to time of end, not allowed friends over, rooms are not clean no playing music can't use their fire wood you have to buy your own. The owner even tried taking bubbles we payed for to play with my friends little sister. They are rude and disrespectful.

Got bit by bed bugs during my 1 night there September 4 2024. Tried to contact the motel to let them know but their phone number is out of service
