WORST RESERVATION SYSTEM I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!! This review is based off of the reservation system! THE most frustrating process I have ever dealt with! I have been trying to book a site since the window opened, but every time I try, and I am on at MIDNIGHT trying to book, it gets reserved for 2 weeks at a time. Last night 10/30/22 I tried AGAIN to book a week, and at midnight I had all the info put in and ready to reserve, I pushed "BOOK NOW" and I got a notice saying "you cant reserve this site until 10am on Oct. 31st." I thought that was weird so I kept refreshing and trying to book, but kept getting the same notice. SO, this morning 10/31/22 7am I decide to doublecheck anyway and see if I can book, well...THE ENTIRE TWO WEEKS HAD BEEN BOOKED!!!! WHY WAS I TOLD TO WAIT TILL 10AM??? This was the 4TH TIME i tried to book site 139.
This is the best campsite in the United States. Removed from most of the world's distractions this site sits on the the Northern tip of Priest Lake. The are plenty of things to do or you can just lay out on the beach with your favorite book and relax.
Awesome location. Amazing waterfront. You need to reserve early! Most camp sites are not too close together.
A wonderful destination to disconnect. No cell service and views that are breath taking. A great place to go and get high, with mountains reaching over 7200ft!
Took a day trip to meet with friends who were camping for the week. The beach area is small but nice with space to set up chairs & umbrellas. There is a dock that extends to 25' or so deep which is good for jumpoffs, but the shore is shallow enough for Littles to play under supervision safely. The bathroom facilities are clean & there are fire & picnic amenities, plus hiking trails. Priest is less developed than other Idaho lakes which makes it quieter & more picturesque. The $14 daily fee for Washingtonians is double the $7 Idaho fee, but not ridiculous.
Great place to visit, camp, group camp, a day at the beach, short hike, long hike, stay at a nearby resort like Hill's or Elkin's, or eat at a nearby restaurant or bar like Moose Knuckle, Ardy's, or Cavanaugh's.
My girlfriend and I were on a road trip and decided to detour a couple hours off our route to this lake. We tried to get in these camp sites but they were completely full! It was a Saturday and we had no reservations so go figure. We were disappointed none the least and tired from driving all day. It seems like the entire state of Washington comes here to camp. I'm hoping to reserve a site next time and actually get to stay on this lake a few nights. When that happens I will update my review
I shouldn't share this, because it's already too hard to book a campsite here, but honestly there is no prettier campsite in all of the PNW. Crystal clear water, a white sandy beach, mountains surrounding the lake, beautiful creeks and scenic hiking trails. If you like to camp, it's worth the trip up and the lack of shower facilities.
I've come here every year since I was a baby. I absolutely love this place, stunning views and experiences.
Absolutely stunning place, clean campground, lovely family friendly campsites.
