The Kootenai Valley Motel is the longest standing motel operating in Bonners Ferry. The motel has been owned by the same family group since the 1980's and has been managed by their real esate management company for that entire time. Lodging guests have come back year after year for the friendly service, affordable rates and beautiful grounds.

This is an old, worn out, cheap motel but it's relatively clean and has friendly staff. You can park right in front of your room if you're worried about valuables in your vehicle.

I absolutely love the fireplace suite. I had a nice relaxing evening-- an hour in the jacuzzi tub and then reading in front of the fire. I hated to leave.

The staff was very nice. The rooms are spacious with refrigerator, coffee pot, microwave, two queen beds, tv and so on but no alarm clock which wasn't to big of a deal because we have cell phones but always nice to have back up when you have to be up early. Nice for an older motel because it was clean inside and outside and a reasonable price. Also has a nice hot tub area that would have been enjoyable if drunk teenagers didn't come in and ruin it by puking just outside the spa door. And good wifi when we stayed in room 3 last year but hardly any connection in room 20 this year. Otherwise an over all good stay. Would definitely recommend if you want a good place for a good price and close to any store you need. It was also nice to have towels that were soft and clean and didn't feel like cardboard. Thanks for the stay Kootenia Valley Motel...see you next year:)

Cheapest place to stay in town. The rooms are spacious and very clean.

I'm not sure what the bad press is about, I guess everyone has a bad day. The grounds were well kept, there was a fire pit that was well stocked, the mature trees gave the place a sense of seclusion on a buisy road. The room was clean with plenty of space and wifi. I would stay there again.
