I recently visited the Shawnessy Library and was impressed by the modern and welcoming atmosphere. The library is well-organized, making it easy to find books and resources. The staff were friendly and helpful, assisting me with my queries.nnThe library offers a wide range of books, media, and programs for all ages. I generally like this library and the staff are usually nice, but I feel that some of the librarians have to work on not letting their bad moods affect their place of work. Certain librarians also have to work on not being condescending. I’m half Filipino so I am shorter and look younger than I actually am and when I requested something from the front desk I was met with “what’s the magic word?”
This library was recently renovated, and the structure looks better now. I can't say enough how I like the staff who works here. They helped me hundreds of times in many ways. Washrooms are always clean. The kids' area is well maintained and organized. There is always a different activity for children to play with.
I love this location. There’s lots of parking, but the parking lot can be busy during school, or if there’s hockey happening. There’s a parking lane right out front, for quick access to the outdoor book return.nnI don’t browse too deeply here, as I can usually find something on the staff-curated shelves at the front. Book holds shelves are organized, and it’s super easy to find the items you’ve requested.nnThe kids’ area is great...for kids. It can get pretty loud if you’re trying to read in the seating area, and there’s kids playing. Use the quiet study room if you need absolute silence.nnI’ll be back within the week... I’m almost done my books! Support your local library!
One of the busiest libraries. They have a mixed crowd of all ages. Nice place to spend a few hours.
