Samura Sushi

Delicious, fresh food brought promptly to your table by friendly staff. Highly recommend! Pros: Good selection of sushi, sashimi, tempura, hand rolls, etc. Food has excellent portion sizing so it's easy not to over-order, and allows you to try new things. With a laid back environment, I've always found staff to be friendly and attentive. Cons : Menu may be a bit tricky to navigate if aren't already familiar with the terms used, and with different types of sushi. There are no descriptions or pictures of what you're ordering. Very little parking, and the building is in need of some repairs. Pricey.

The sushi was fresh and tasty, and the menu had a good variety of special rolls, sashimi and kitchen items. The customer service was lacking though, with the servers being a bit unapproachable and a bit slow with bringing the food out, particularly with the sashimi which came last but usually takes the least amount of preparation and orders from our second and third order sheets. The seating for large groups was also a bit uncomfortable, with only a strip of thin carpet and a few cushions not enough for each person though being placed on plywood benches. There also weren't enough place settings made even though we had a reservation, and since it was hard to hail down a server we needed to take utensils and soy sauce dishes from a neighbouring table. The quality of the food was very good for all-you-can-eat, and though it seems that all sushi prices have been increasing recently it was $24.99 per person which is one of the more reasonable price points for Guelph. Would recommend for the food, but this place definitely lacked the ambiance and friendliness that you might expect for this type of restaurant.

Great place for all you can eat sushi. I enjoy going there for sushi. Most of the rolls are pretty good even the hand rolls and other features

They have very good varieties of sushi and its way cheaper than other Guelph sushi restaurants.

The food is okay, it can sometimes be very hit or miss. I've gone and the rice was warm and other times where it was quite stale. The service is poor, they never come by and I look over to see our server on his phone. I had stains on my dishes and had to get up to get their attention. Overall, standard fare, good if you want some takeout sushi but the dining experience is lacking. It used to be better but has slowly declined.

This is my favorite sushi place in Guelph. I’ve been going there for almost 4 years. The food is always consistent. However, last time I went they changed up their noodles which I didn’t like. Otherwise, the ingredients are always fresh, the staff is amicable, and the price is the cheapest around for all you can eat! The place is a little unassuming since it’s next to a super-8 motel, but it’s definitely worth a try!

We enjoy going to Samura for lunch buffet. Buffet menu is quite diverse, with good selection of sushi, rolls, hand rolls and a number of non-sushi items. Service is very quick and they easily handle big orders without mucking up, which is often the case with sushi buffets. There is also a large selection of non-buffet items and drinks. Samura is not a fancy place, but it is probably the best Japanese restaurant in Guelph in terms of quality vs price. It's slightly out of the way for residents, but it's close to several hotels and motels.

My boyfriend and I have been coming here for years, by far the best sushi place in Guelph. The fish is of superior quality, kitchen food is amazing, and the staff are extremely friendly and genuinely care about their customers. Service is fast and efficient. Of the dozens of times we have come here I don't think we have ever had one bad experience! Keep up the wonderful work.

Service is SO slow. Orders were not correct, people who came in and ordered LONG after us got their food before we go miso soup & salads! That's in the restaurant. Can no longer order delivery from there unless we want to wait 1.5-2 hours for our food. Used to be our favourite and go to sushi place. Looks like we need a new one.

Best sushi in Guelph.At this date the cheapest lunch during weekend.Everything so fresh and tasty.We love it.
