Salty Sugar Patisserie

My sister ordered a strawberry bomb cake from Salty Sugar Patisserie for my birthday. The cake is not too sweet and full of the fresh strawberries. The layers of sponge cake was really fluffy. The cake was so yummy and delicious. Definitely, I will try their other cakes for sure in the future.

I ordered a Jasmine Macchiato cake for my sister’s birthday. The cake is not too sweet, and it’s a good combination of the lychee with the jasmine tea sponge cake. Also, it’s a pretty cake for Instagram pictures. It is a bit hard to contact the staffs when I wanted to change the pick up date. They never reply the online chat or messages they provide on their website. They don’t have contact number as well, however finally I emailed them and managed to change the pick up date.

These are some extremely talented bakers. Their cakes and macaroons are never too sweet. You can tell they put a lot of love and time into each thing they make. Do yourself a favour and order something today! The tiramisu cake was my favourite of the trio.

The cake was ok, lots of cream but lack in chocolate taste. I wish there was a different dimension to the cake, ie crunch. Definitely not addictive as it advertised.

I had their cake once last year and it tasted great however I had an extremely upsetting experience with them on 1/5 when I tried to pick up my cake order for a very important occasion yesterday. I placed an order on 1/3 for pick up on 1/5 and accidentally had a typo for the year 2022 instead of 2023. The order confirmation email was received and charged my credit card right away on date of order however the store never reach out to me to advise they could not fullfill my order due to incorrect year until I showed up at their store tried to pick up my cake. The staff told me it's my responsibility to check the date; I get it and admit it is my fault for the typo, but I just don't see why they decided not to communicate with customers when they received the order more than 24hrs ago per their policy and 1 charged the full amount already 2 sent order confirmation email already. Honestly why would anyone place an order for the past year?! The staff offered fulfillment on next day which defeated the purpose of the cake and in the end no alternative option and not a single word of apologies was offered, they just refunded my order. Summary: 8.5/10 for cake, 0/10 for customer service and communication which is also crucial for operating a business I suppose? Sidenote: this incident left me rushing to search for alternate option for a decent whole cake as most patisseries close early. Bravo's for Story Cafe in Richmond for last minute fulfillment. Excellent communication phone call received right after I placed my online order to discuss about details for the cake and it turned out we had the best cheesecake in the entire universe !!

We ordered a birthday cake, Yuan Yang, to celebrate our son’s b’day. The cake was pretty, delicious, & reasonably priced. Pick-up was easy. Highly recommended!

Authentic cheesecake with added layering creating extra texture and mouth watering excitement, all but finished with crunchy brûlée. Well done !

My friend ordered strawberry boom for my birthday. It is the best cake I’ve ever had so far. The strawberry and the cream are really fresh. It’s not too sweet and has a refreshing fruity taste. Love it!!

Salty Sugar have the best macaron in town, they infuse tea flavour to most of their macaron, and also have some fusion fruity ones. Personal favourite is Raspberry Cream Cheese, Chocolate. I tried two times of their cake Dragon Momoko, Jasmine Macchiato. Every layers tasted amazing on its own. Note that it is not the sweetness that will kill you. But I do notice something is missing. Together, layers of cake don't really match as much, honestly was slightly disappointed with the flavour of recent cake Dragon Momoko I received. But might give another chance as most people like their Creme Brulee and Ying Yang.
