Sala Modern Thai Kitchen was a gem to find! My friend and I were just looking for a place around that had vegan options and this place popped up. We made reservations, but when we got there at close to 8:00pm, the place was packed! They were very accommodating and asked if we would like to sit at the bar to wait. We just decided to stay there and eat because the atmosphere was just so lively and fun. The women serving us were so sweet and patient even though it was so busy. I had Pad Thai and my friend had the Pad Sew. Both were generous portions and delicious, but the coconut ice cream at the end was to die for! Even though we live in Barrie, we will definitely make a trip back to this place. I have already told all my friends about it!
This is my favourite Thai place in Toronto - not just the East end. The food is delicious and very flavorful. The portions are good and fairly priced.nnEspecially love the spring rolls, pad thai, and khaoi soi.nnI've done take out and enjoyed eating in. When you eat in, they give you a few shot glasses of flavor enhancers, so you can customize your dish.nnThe entrance is a bit awkward in the winter because you have to navigate a tent experience that does its best to keep out the cold with varying degrees of success - you'll still get a chill if you eat near the door. Washrooms are down a flight of stairs in the basement.
Authentic Thai restaurant with delicious food and friendly staff. Highly recommend the spring rolls, pad see ew and roti banana Nutella dessert. After being in Thailand recently, this food took me back!
