We stopped in while we were in the neighbourhood and are so glad we did. The food here is excellent and staff are lovely. We had the shrimp fresh rolls and butterfly coconut shrimp to start, and the cashew chicken and curry pad Thai as mains. The coconut shrimp were perfectly fried and the sauce with each app was delicious. Portions for mains are very generous and the food has a good spice level. FYI the cashew chicken did not come with rice so we added an order. We had the mango sticky rice and coconut ice cream for dessert. Both were lovely and a nice way to end the meal. I would eat here again for sure
Pii Nong is a cute classy vibe. I’m not the biggest fan of the location but it’s a place you should definitely try. Beware it’s a very high traffic area, paid parking is available near by, there’s a few lots or street parking.nnFood came out fairly quick. We got the chicken green curry and I was it was spicier but it was more mild & coconut base. The crispy beef was one of my favourites, super flavourful! A must try! Pad See Ew was good, I’ve had better but still tasted good, we asked for extra spicy and it was spicy. The fried rice has bigger chunks of pinapple, it wasn’t as sweet as I would have liked it to be but it was good. I love the large shrimp it came with!nnI would recommend trying this place at-least once. I was too full to order a drink but a lot of people were drinking the Teddy Bear Tea, it was super cute to see !!
We tried the classic set menu for two and wow. These are common Thai dishes perfected through a delicate balance of flavours. Each dish was light yet bold. The heartiness of each dish comforts you while the bright and spicy flavours wakes you up for the next bite. The set menu isn’t just a highlight of the classics - it’s an endless rotation of complimenting flavours until the plates are suddenly empty. My only regret was that I was too full to try the mango sticky rice. I can’t wait to return and try their other dishes.nnThank you to the friendly staff that made our dining experience that much greater.
A Highly-Anticipated LunchnnFor a while, Pii Nong Thai was at the top of my list of Toronto restaurants to try, and I’m so glad I finally made it there. It's a true gem, offering incredible value and delicious food in a city where dining out can be quite expensive. Their lunch menu is a fantastic deal at $20, allowing you to choose one main and two sides.nnI started with the spring rolls and mango salad, and both were glorious. The spring rolls were perfectly fresh and crispy, a testament to being prepared with care. The mango salad was crisp, fresh, and perfectly balanced with the right amount of crunch from peanuts and a burst of flavor from mint.nnFor my main course, I opted for the beef Khao Soi. What a wonderful dish to tie the meal together. The portion was generous and every bite was delightful. I would absolutely love to return and explore more of their menu. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the pace of the meal was perfect; I felt well taken care of without ever feeling rushed. It was a truly lovely experience.
The food we ordered was exceptional! The menu has a large variety of authentic Thai dishes to select and all then dishes we had were all consistently delicious. The servers are very kind and friendly, the atmosphere and decor is just right, not too fancy but chic. Love their deep fried mini crab, it was the highlight. The only down side was parking, it’s difficult to find a spot especially on a weekend.
