We came here at around 6 on a weekday and there was already a line outside the restaurant. We didn’t have a reservation waited for around 15 min to be seated. Super quick service and the food arrived really fast. They had a 90 min time limit for the meal. The food was good overall. We tried the green curry and the fried crispy pork. Portion size was huge and we had to pack some food to take away. Will recommend making a reservation.
The experience was very good and I love the place. It’s a very busy and popular restaurant. We’re lucky that we were able to go even without a reservation on a Friday. The table we had were small even for two people though especially because we ordered an appetizers plus meals.nnThe food is good but it was a too spicy. The server mentioned it but I didn’t expect it to be super duper spicy. I tasted nothing but the spice and nothing else. Food presentation is a bomb though!!! Very Instagram worthy!!! My mom loved her Islamic noodles
Koh Lipe has really authentic Thai food. It's a vibrant and cozy atmosphere serving large portions.nnBeing very honest, I found the food to be average. I cannot remember the names of each dish. Ordered a dish with noodle and beef, a mix seafood in curry, pineapple fried rice, crispy pork belly in a stew and Pad Thai.nnExcept the Pad Thai and the pineapple fried rice, each dish was very salty. It was hard to taste any of the herbs and spices and the flavors were very muddled. In other words, the flavor was very linear, and the only difference was how sweet/salty the curry was.nnMy culinary expertise has always been grounded in the quality and taste of the individual ingredients bringing harmony to a dish. For that reason, Thai food is not for me. Today's experience was a melting pot of flavors that was not interesting enough for a second bite, but rather a repetition of alternating between salty & sweet.nnIt is friendly service but not very frequent on the check up. Very small washrooms and a very cozy environment. Can be very spicy for those not use to spice. A couple of gluten free options.nnNice date spot for anyone who loves Thai food.nn18% gratuity charged on table of 5 or more
The food was great, very filling! The portions are big. The Islamic noodles were packed with flavour! I really enjoyed it. The shrimp appetizer was just as great but don't have it if you don't like coriander because that's the main taste of this dish.nnThe spot itself is cool I guess. The only thing is that they are somewhat strict with timing, they give you 1 hour 30 minutes at the table. You feel rushed. The staff was nice but the time restraint affects the experience.
Second time dining in at this restaurant. I had a great experience as well as last time. This is my favourite Thai food in Toronto. The dishes were exquisite! I tried to order different dishes every time so that I could try everything on the menu: The staff provided excellent customer service. They worked together to provide customers with a pleasant and satisfying dining experience.nDefinitely will come back soon
