Koh Lipe brought the flavors and the fun! We kicked things off with the Tom Yum—nice and punchy with that classic tangy-spicy kick that wakes up your taste buds in the best way. The Green Curry was rich, creamy, and comforting, with just the right balance of heat and herbs.nnThen came the star surprise: Koe Sora Panda Toast for dessert —crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and dangerously easy to devour. Sweet, playful, and a perfect way to end the meal.nnOverall, great vibes, solid Thai flavors, and a dessert that steals the show. A few tiny tweaks and this could easily be a 5-star spot—but for now, a very happy 4 stars and we’d definitely come back!
My son and I decided to go out to eat Thai food on Friday night. So without any reservations we braved it here. We were third in the queue.......after less than 10 minutes we were ushered to a table right outside the kitchen. The very pleasant lady who took our order recommended dishes to us. The service was fast and we started tucking in to the yummy spring rolls. The flat rice noodles was delicious and aromatic. The Mas Sa Man curry was wholesome and comforting. We cleaned up all the dishes leaving not a trace of any food. In the end we opted to share an ice-cream which like the rest of the great.nnOn my next visit to Toronto I will definitely go again to try out some other dishes. Definitely the best place in town for Thai food.
It definitely lives up to the hype. Great food with amazing ambiance. The staff is professional and polite. Better to reserve a spot instead of walk-ins because the lineup was crazy.nShrimp dumplings were delicious with a herby spicy sauce. Pad thai was really tasty and the portion was huge. We tried their pineapple curry which was a feature item with sticky rice. Sticky rice were sweet but the flavour of chicken balances out the dish. I also ordered thai iced tea and the sweetness was perfect in it.
Have been to both spots now. Vibe is different here. More contemporary vs. what feels more traditional Southern Thai at the Scarborough location. Portions were a good size and we had a lot of food to take home. Everything was tasty but in both dishes that had squid, it was a bit on the chewy side hence the 4 stars
Koh Lipe Thai in Toronto carries itself with the quiet confidence of a restaurant that knows exactly what it is doing. Awarded a Michelin distinction in 2023, it lives up to the recognition with food that is thoughtful, generous, and deeply flavorful without ever feeling overworked.nnWe began with the Pineapple Mint Smoothie, a one-litre share meant for the table. It arrived vibrant and icy, striking the perfect balance between ripe tropical sweetness and clean herbal freshness. It was refreshing rather than sugary, acting as both a drink and a palate cleanser, especially welcome alongside spicier dishes.nnThe Moo Tod was immediately memorable. Perfectly fried pork that was crisp on the outside yet tender inside, it felt light and refreshing rather than heavy or greasy. The fried pork belly followed and leaned unapologetically into indulgence, with crackling skin and rich meat offset by a chili lime sauce that was spectacular. Bright acidity, heat, and citrus cut through the richness and elevated every bite.nnThe Pad Thai showed restraint and skill. Rice noodles were coated evenly in tamarind sauce with a gentle sweetness and tang, while egg, tofu, bean sprouts, chives, and ground peanuts provided balance and texture. It felt classic, comforting, and carefully executed, with protein options that made it accessible without diluting its character.nnThe Khao Pad Pla was bold and complex. Spicy fried rice with mackerel, egg, onion, carrot, and lemongrass delivered depth and savoriness, while katsuobushi flakes added a subtle umami lift. It was layered, aromatic, and deeply satisfying.nnWith an extensive menu that even includes a keto section, Koh Lipe Thai manages to be inclusive without compromising quality. Everything we tried was delicious, thoughtful, and worthy of its Michelin recognition.
