No self checkouts!! That’s a huge win in my eyes honestly. It makes for a better shopping experience in my opinion when I have people to help over a machine. Love seeing the food bank pre packs already to go and I believe they have it setup all year as well. The staff on hand was very friendly from the people who helped me. The ore cooked food counter was closed by the time I got there late so I am excited to try their station out yet
This safeway is the most un cared for Safeway ever . Went in for lunch at 12pm and these are the options. Pretty disappointing. The deli manager was talking about how most of the things were expired. Do yourself a favor and go to the Oliver safeway.
Tired of the really terrible customer service in this store. I get the feeling staff in general consider customers as an inconvenience between coffee breaks and after purchasing some moldy cheese, the lady at Customer Service reinforced that me coming back to the store for a return was a major inconvenience for her. Will be actively avoiding this location going forward.
I am continually frustrated with all the Safeway Stores. We all know how busy they have been over the last year and a half as most folks have been eating at home and yet they continue to have their stores understaffed creating lineups . Most people will turn a blind eye to a worn floor when the service is amazing. I think I need to return to our local IGA for great service.
I used to live 2 min from this Safeway and forgot why we avoided it. Stopped in around dinner time on a Friday maybe. One till open and lineups down the two aisles adjacent nearly to the back of the store. I suddenly remembered that this is the norm here most days. On the upside, the selection is always there. They are rarely out of something and the staff, especially the ladies at the till are usually lovely.
Great staff and a clean store. There is never enough cashiers working. The canned beans are not with the canned vegetables, they are in the soup aisle. The feta cheese is not in the dairy section, it's in the deli. Good luck finding the dates, they're with the salad dressing in the produce section. Shop here if you have lots of free time, love scavenger hunts, or know where the management has stashed the products out throughout the store.
Staff here are very friendly and nice. Not overly busy and had a few good deals. For most of my shopping needs I go to Walmart but when Safeway has some decent specials I like to go here.
I always love coming here, the staff are so friendly and kind, funny. They chat you up usually when you're at the till. The pharmacists are amazing too. Very sympathetic and kind as well. They are helpful and can answer any questions you might have. The only negative thing I'd say is they don't always have someone at customer service and you could be waiting 20 minutes until someone notices you're there at which point they call someone. I get that people are busy and sometimes people have to do multiple jobs but then there should be a Buzzer there or something to let people know someone is waiting. The produce here is very fresh, only thing is it is very expensive. I like buying my meat here because I know it's hormone free, etc. I wish they had better selection of all natural products especially cleaning products. Toothpastes, etc.
Their sandwich maker does not wear a mask. She kept on yuppin while making the sandwich. I can only imagine how much of her spits went to the food. With the covid that's a yuck ! I told the manager he said it is not mandatory anymore to wear mask. It should be their store policy that their staff should wear masks esp when attending to food that doesn't require cooking anymore. I will never buy any food where the staff isn't wearing a mask.. like subway. It's dangerous. It only takes 1 sandwich maker to contaminate hundreds.
This store sells the absolute best donuts ever, the croissant donut. Don't waste your time eating the sad excuse of a donut Tim Hortons sells, buy those instead. If my self respect was any lower I'd be eating a dozen of those bad boys a day.
