The Story:nnVisit Rona Halifax store to purchase a drain snake for a clogged sink drain, looking for help but no one around. Grab a 50 ft one on my own and turn out it’s too thick to feed into the drain hole, the handle is extremely difficult to rotate. Bring it back to the store same day, cashier unable to process due to return require manager approval. Waiting for store manager for a few minutes but no one shows up. Cashier then called someone else for approval. Tony J shows up and refused return for a tons of excuses: “I has same one and I has no problem with it so do you.”, “If you don’t know how to use it go watch YouTube.”, “I can’t resale it so I won’t take it back.”, “This is final sale, you can go check our website.”nnThoughts:nnSince Hone Depot discontinued Ego product line, I turn to Rona to purchase a few additional Ego gears. My general experience was good about this store sine I did not return any of my Ego products yet. Unsatisfied products should be return to the manufacturer rather than resell it or let customer stuck with it. Quite frankly it’s common practice for a private own store who reject reasonable return for profit purpose and do not care customer satisfaction.nnConclusion:nnUnless you are 100% sure what you buy wont be return, otherwise, go Home Depot. They will make it right when your purchase does not works for you. On the opposite, Rona will ruin your day and have you stuck with unsatisfied products and let your feel you return a unsatisfied product is an awful thing.

Went to pick up an online order, front desk referred me to paint desk which referred me to pro desk which referred me back to paint desk. Once I finally received the order they let me know that an item that was cancelled in my order was now 5 in stock. They directed me where to get it. It wasn’t there. Took 2 staff and 20 mins looking to then say there was no product. A lady in front of me asked to give extra change to get back a bill and they said they couldn’t because they couldn’t count the change. Enraging

went in to buy exterior sico paint. sign mentioned 30% off. came up at the cash 25%. I questioned it, eventually they agreed to give the extra 5%. The cashier tried something on the cash, didn't;t work, called a so called supervisor who was rude. I returned the product. lousy customer service.

This store feels nice and new inside. It's a convenient location because there aren't a lot of hardware stores on the peninsula. There's also lots of parking which is not easy to find around here.nnThe staff are nice and helpful, really no complaints except prices aren't that low. Not much different from any of the other Rona's around. They sure manage to fit a lot in a small space!!

Bought a pair of craftsman pliers from this store, only about a year ago. The handle is already coming off, so I tried to exchange it with the craftsman lifetime warranty program. It states on the craftsman website to simply bring it back to the retailer it was purchased from, no purchase necessary.nnRONA would not give me a replacement, saying I needed a receipt within 90 days, which is clearly not what craftsman says. I showed the customer service associate the craftsman policy, and they said that wasn’t what they followed. So either the people working there had no idea about the policy, or RONA is intentionally misleading its customers by selling things that state they have a lifetime warranty that don’t. Either way, this is reason enough for me to never shop there again. I can no longer trust them with my money.nnI bought these pliers with the craftsman lifetime return policy in mind, knowing if they broke I could get them replaced easily. I never would have bought them if I knew they were not going to honor their warranty policy.nnAlso, I was going to buy a hot glue gun that was $35 and I’m so glad I didn’t because I went to Canadian Tire and got the same size and wattage for only $20. Moral of the story, don’t shop here. They don’t follow the policies of their own products and it’s overpriced! Canadian tire, Home Depot or Kent are all much better options. UNTRUSTWORTHY AND OVERPRICED!
