Canadian Tire

This is for Canadian tire auto repair NOT the retail store. I’ve been taking my 1979 Volvo to them for a few seasons to change my tires from winter to summer and summer to winter. The spring of 2025 I was advised after they changed my tires from winter to summer that I would need new rims the next time I changed my tires. They claimed they did not have 14inch rims and therefore I would need to look elsewhere. Fast forward to spring of 2026, some one found 15 inch Volvo rims which I was told by several different auto places that I could use 15 inch for me. I took the rims to Canadian tire to put the new rims to me on but they claimed after trying that they didn’t fit because they were for front wheel drive. Then he proceeded to say he didn’t understand why I was looking for new rims cause there is nothing wrong with your rims.nHe couldn’t remember telling me about needing to replace the rims because it was a year ago. My response, then it doesn’t need anything and he said you could use new tires. Okay I say please put new tires on the car and I’ll try selling the rims.nThey put the old rims back on with new tires and I picked up my car. I drove 1km and my brakes felt mushy, then I I heard a klink and scraping sound and no brakes.nI towed the car back to cdn tire auto and they were going to charge me to fix my brakes but I said I was not paying because my brakes were working fine when I drove it to CDN tire and I’ve had work on my brakes most recently. They asked if I thought it was something they did and I said yes. He agreed to fix the brakes with no cost to me but they did not want to work on my car anymore. I said I agreed and feelings were mutual I did not want them working on my car anymore.nSo now I have a set of 15 inch Volvo rims because Cdn Tire auto told me I needed new rims one year and then the next year said they were okay.nNOTE: there telephone system does not work well either I was on hold for over an hour trying to call Cdn tire auto and two hours another time and never got through. I left a note for the store manager about the telephone system and asked him to call me with his solution. I have not heard from them either

Some cashiers here don’t have a very good attitude. My checkout experience was uncomfortable because of the cashier’s tone and lack of basic courtesy. Her attitude put an end to my good mood for the whole day. I hope the store can improve its customer service.nBut the salesperson was relatively friendly. Thank you.

Excellent friendly service. I was having problems getting the correct wiper blade replacement. Staff at service counter came out and skillfully snapped into place. Much appreciatednHarry Adams

had a truly disappointing experience at the Canadian Tire branch on Quinpool Road. Although I understand Canadian Tire used to have a good return policy, the staff at this location treated me with extreme disrespect. Despite the fact that I returned a faulty air fryer within the legal return period, they refused to accept it and even accused me of lying. No customer should be treated this way. It’s completely unacceptable to accuse a paying customer who followed the rules of dishonesty, and the rudeness I experienced was beyond belief.nnI hope this review helps others avoid similar treatment at this location.

In anticipation of a power failure, we went to Canadian Tire to buy an additional flashlight. We went to the appropriate hardware section. I did not find a suitable product. I asked the clerk if there were flashlights elsewhere in the store. The response was no. Even though he was adamant, I suspected that he was wrong. So, we went to the automotive section and found a variety of LED flashlight all of which would meet our needs. The products were excellent and priced well but the level of customer service did not meet minimum standards. Clearly a problem with recruitment and training all of which rests with management.
