Ricky's All Day Grill - Lougheed

I feel good coming here with kids. They have a treasure chest with small gifts, kids menus and welcoming staff. The kids have taken a liking to this place and want to keep coming back. The place is cozy, but the food is average, which is expected with this type of family friendly restaurant. I like coming in for breakfast and I love their garlic bread.

I went in with low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. Our server, Austin, was friendly and energetic. He was there when we needed him, away when we just wanted to chat amongst ourselves, and was just generally pretty great. Our food arrived promptly and was tasty. I had the grilled cheese and a French onion soup and my mom had the California salad. The portion sizes were great and the flavours were delicious.

We went for dinner. The usual "what would you like to drink?" I ordered coffee - never got it. Ordered a steak medium rare got medium to medium-well. And the steak had clearly been over-tenderized it was actually kind of "spongy". But the kicker was that about 3am I had to get up and race to the bathroom and was stuck there for an hour and a half. Now to be fair I have to say there is no way I can prove it was the steak but I hadn't had a lot of other food to eat that day and what I did was all food from home. We won't be going back.

A close friend and I have brunch or lunch here twice a month. Nothing negative I can say about this restaurant. Good food, friendly staff and restaurant is very clean.

Went to this Rickys location for a Birthday dinner as we use to LOVE the Prime Rib that they had ....this was offered on weekends only as a special. And it WAS truly the best....WAS! We were seated and went to order this Prime Rib dinner and the waitress advised they no longer have it on the menu...BUT instead they have a Shaved Prime Rib special. What a mistake I made in ordering it.... they have completely changed it...and to be totally honest it is Horrible!!! It has no taste and in no way would I call this a Prime Rib dinner. It looks like a shaved roast beef that you would buy from a grocery store....But Tasteless very unappealing to even look at! I never even finished it, ate maybe a third of it IF that. I gave a taste of it to a few others I was with and they found it to be horrible as well. SO I am sad to say if you crave a Prime Rib meal this no longer the place to go.
