Delicious, authentic Malaysian food with fast delivery and very generous portions!nnWe ordered the Nasi Lemak with chicken, Roti with chicken curry, Penang Char Kway Teow, and the Indian fried noodles, and everything was absolutely satisfying. The Nasi Lemak had fragrant coconut rice with crispy, flavourful chicken and a nicely balanced sambal that wasn’t overly spicy. The roti was soft and flaky, perfect for dipping into the rich and aromatic chicken curry. The Penang Char Kway Teow had that classic wok hei flavour, savoury, slightly smoky, and packed with ingredients. The Indian fried noodles were especially impressive, with a bold spice aroma, springy noodles, and a comforting savoury depth that made every bite addictive.nnWe’ll definitely order again!
Not my first time at this restaurant, but it definitely has been over a decade since my last visit.nnWent for lunch today and it was a bit busier than I thought it would be for 1pm, which is great for the restaurant considering people are dining out less these days.nnWe were seated right away and menus provided at the same time.nThere was a Lunch Special menu but we decided to order full portions from the regular menu.nWe were able to order right away and our drinks and ice water were brought out.nnOur food was brought out fairly quickly, all of it being hot.nRoti is a must order item! The noodles were also very tasty with the shrimp not being overcooked.nFried chicken was crispy on the outside and nice and juicy inside.nnService was attentive with the servers checking on us every so often and clearing empty plates away.nWhen we were done eating, the server packed up our leftovers for us instead of just giving us containers.nnYou can pay by card or cash, but just be advised that they do not accept $100 bills.nnParking was pretty easy to get a spot that wasn't too far from the entrance.
For a restaurant that has been around for 20 years, the food is good, not amazing. Basically all the recommendations are fine, but venture off that list and the dishes are average if not a bit confusing in terms of taste.nnSatay beef skewers was the best dish we had. Meat was tender and tasty. The sauce was sweet, but I believe that is typical for Malaysian food? Roti with curry was also memorable because of the soft airy roti. However, the curry was warm, but not hot. We had lamb with ours and the meat was not gamey. Overall happy with the food.nnLaksa was salty and lacked any fragrant coconut taste. A bit disappointing for sure. The pineapple fried rice also lacked any distinctive flavour. It’s great fried rice and they use fresh pineapple, but that is about it.nnBanana roti was sweet. Roti was great, banana flavour was there, but the sweetness was a tad overpowering.nnThe stir fried beans were overcooked, not recommended. I wished we tried the egg plant instead.nnThe kitchen’s last call is at 7:30pm and they ran out of char kway teow when we ordered. I feel that dish needs to be tried if you visit. The restaurant was pretty full when we got there, but we did not need to wait in line.nnOverall, for a restaurant that has been around for such a long time, it’s good. I think the taste profiles for some of the dishes could be improved.
The fried rice is good, but was expecting a more unique kick to it. Maybe need to try another fried rice from the menu to see the difference. Love the fried shrimp chips though. The chicken curry was good, and the satay mutton and chicken was meaty. A bit on the expensive side but it does come with 3 meaty sticks each. The mutton was hard to chew and swallow for some pieces. The skewer sauce is very delicious and perfectly goes well with the complementary cucumbers.nnIt is pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm, no need to wait for a table but pretty packed. Service is quick and efficient over quality service though. I don't mind it as long as my food is good. Free parking lot out front, lots of cars but still have spots here and there.
We had a really great experience here. The food was pretty good. What impressed us the most was the service, it was great and surprisingly fast. We went close to their closing time, around last call, and even though we were there during closing hours, the quality of the food and the level of service didn’t change at all. The staff were still attentive, and everything came out quickly and tasted great. Definitely appreciated the effort and would happily come back again!
