Maxim Restaurant

It's my first time to go to this restaurant with my family on February 16th around 3 pm for afternoon tea. No service at all. I had to pick up the menus from the host stand by myself. No body came to us after 5 minutes. Warning about the automatic 12% tip that they INCLUDED on the bill. The 10% tip printed on the menu and I don't understand why they billed 12% instead with no good service at all. I definitely will report this to Consumer Protection Ontario to file a consumer complaint. I just don't accept the way they do business. NOT RECOMMENDED TO GO THERE. NO service and why I have to pay tips.

We went there on a Saturday night. Not too busy. The place seems clean and rather comfortable where you want to stay for a while after finished eating. I had duck breast and my husband had stuffed turkey which he said was surprisingly tendered. My duck breast was ok and with nice presentation. The tomato veggies soup was the best I have tried in all HK style restaurants here. You got your choice of cake and hot beverage too. Price for the duck breast set meal was $25 plus 12% tip . Service was friendly particularly the female waitress.

Duck leg dinner didn’t taste like duck. Very greasy. Bread is also tasteless. Service is average but charges 12% fixed rate of gratuity.

Dessert was ok, the actual food is a big nope for me and my friends I went with. Beware the menu item written in English... The "tiger shrimp and scallops" is a LIE! We were told it was an English typo and that the Chinese description was the accurate one only after we received our meals to no seafood. Their steaks say "AAA Sirloin" but I'm pretty sure that too is a typo for "A Sirloin"... I'm baffled at the 4 rating this place has.

i ordered a birthday cake ferom here and it taste fine but not very good although the price is cheap， compared with other bakerys
