this is one of the best facilities in the neighbourhood if not the best, and it definitely sweetens the deal for those living in somehow sketchy Regent Park. Leisure and lane swimming are free! a little unusual thing are co-ed change rooms. showers are right by the pool, so you can only shower in your bathing suit. there are lockers but you need to bring your own lock. most of people just bring their bags to the pool area, where you can keep an eye on them for all the time. the atmosphere is rather relaxed. the slow lane swimming is everything but lane swimming. people stop in the middle or change directions or just hang out to chat. the life guards are not overly strict, so it is usually up to other swimmer to explain to those new to the facility what the lane swimming is, and that there are certain rules like keeping the direction. anyways, it can be a pleasant experience, but just be patient with others. l eisure swim can be a bit wild, especially on weekends. people just walk in and out - again - the life guards are too busy doing their job I suppose to address people walking in to the pool area in street clothes, just hanging out or maybe waiting for their friends. the hot tub is still not available as of August 2022 not sure when it's gonna be operational again. anyways, it's free so I can't complain. sometimes there is no soap in showers/washrooms, so you might wanna bring your own. a beautiful park outside - in summer you can just dry out there. the facility has hair driers though. PS> just read the recent reviews about thefts plaguing the place… maybe that explains all those people walking in and out the change rooms in street clothes… I wish there was more supervision. anyways, if you live near by just walk and don't bring any valuables with you. I keep my bag with clothes, a towel and shoes by the swimming pool, never gtt robbed yet know the wood.
Award winning public facility! They usually play music, the staff is very friendly. Change rooms cleanness 4/5. Alternating change rooms makes the turnaround functional without running into the next or last group. Lockers available; bring your own lock.
One of the best aqautic facilities in the city of Toronto. State of the art facilities including the three pools available for free public use 1. kids pool with an umbrella fixture that rains over it and fountains that spout into the pool. 2. A 25 metre lap pool divided into lanes according to swimming abilities. This pool also includes a rope swing and large slide with steps that lead to the top of it. These features are available during specific swim hours see schedule 3. A giant sized therapeutic/ hot tub with relaxation jets. The changerooms are open and available for all people with individual private change rooms. My daughters learned to swim here and it was just one of the reasons why we enjoyed living life in Regent Park for five years.
Went for the first time today - can't give a real review because the hours on here are different to the actual hours attached! Gonna go back and try tomorrow. From what I saw, though, the facility seemed clean and the staff were nice, professional, and informed. Note that the hot tub/water slide are currently closed because of a mechanical problem but when I asked about it the fellow seemed like he got the question a lot, so I'm sure they're working on it!
Really great pool. So great I would pay to get in but it's free. The only gripe I have with them is not updating the website once an issue has been resolved. For about 2 weeks they kept saying the heater will be fixed tomorrow even though it had been fixed for a while. Also there is a water slide but I have never seen it open.
I was in today with my 8 years old son and a friend. We put our stuff in their locker and I used my own lock. After 15 minutes of my last check, I had our locker broken in and my backpack was stolen. I had staff members helping me to find it which after 15 minutes we found in another locker with all my stuff upturned with money, prestos and jewelry gone! Staff said that it happens very often so be advised to take care of your belongings. I just filled a police report by the way. And to everybody who went through this, I ask to please fill up a police report online is very easy and it doesn’t take 15 minutes, because the thing is that this is statistics, if we don’t complain, police won’t know that this area needs more security and they will not send more surveillance in this area and those things will be happening to more and more people. Please, fill up a police report!
I am appalled by this behaviour and lack of customer service. We waited 2 hours for leisure swim and when it was finally time they told us the lifeguards did not shown up. These actions are not exceptable and we demand change
My family went for a leisure swim. Our belongings were locked in a locker. Within the span of 20 minutes, the lock was cut and my purse was stolen. This contained my keys, Ontario health card and drivers license, credit cards, phone, watch, ring, cash. Please don’t bring valuables. We were just going for a fun family swim and didn’t think twice but now won’t be going back. We learned now this is an ongoing issue for many years, yet there’s still no signage to warn people, no security camera, no security guard. UPDATE My husband went by to check for any lost and found items. The staff told him that one day alone, they had 74 thefts so the centre was closed. 74 in one day!!!
Young Lady at the front desk was fabulous. Every week during swim lessons, she remembered everybody's name. I grew up near Regent Park, miss the great outdoor pool but man, the new one is GREAT
Excellent centre, for enjoying a day swimming, or rent a room where you can celebrate a party or birthday of your son or grandsons. In summer also you can enjoy the outdoors playground, park and a walk fountain.
