red star vancouver After changing the team, it was so disappointing. I spent hundreds of dollars to eat king crab. The crab legs were not fresh. The base of the baked rice was cold. I don’t recommend that everyone eat it there.
I’ve been to many Chinese restaurants and I’m Chinese-Vietnamese myself. Prior to this visit, I went to a food court stall in Crystal Mall and had their fried rice same dish in the photo. It was $12 less and better than this.nnYou know what they say, if the service is too good or tries to be too good in a Chinese restaurant, it’s probably making up for lackluster food. And that’s true here.nnEverything was overpriced I don’t mind paying more if the food quality matches. But it didn’t at all. Everything in the photo was $131 before tip. THE TEA WAS $8!!!nnDo not recommend.
We were craving for king crab dinner as it is in season. We’ve got 7.5 lbs. Cooked in 3 way: steamed with garlic; deep fried peppery salt; baked rice with king crab. Crab was Super delicious and cooked to perfection. we packed half portion of the rice to go. Service was very attentive. They kept up with changing our plates very frequently.
Service is terrific! Super friendly servers and staffs.nnHas a great Cantonese restaurant vice, with nice seating arrangements. Fairly spacious and comfortable.nnChar siu and soy sauce chicken were decent. Char siu is on the hard side.nnOther dishes were oily and salty. We ordered shrimp dumplings aka har gow or , which tasted good but wayyyyy too salty. The stir fry green beans with eggplant was too oily and the beans weren’t treated properly… so you get all these hard strands that were supposed to be discarded, which are hard to chew or swallow.nnMaybe something’s wrong with the steamer? Har gow and ’s wraps were quite inconsistent. Some are good and some so soft that it would break when picked up.nnKinda sad this is what’s it like now… maybe it will get better?
At first when we sat at the table it started to feel quite hot so they turned on the A/C in our area which was nice of them to notice. Food is delicious along with great service. They changed their menu a bit.
