I have to say this is a real gem. There are a lot of places in Vancouver/Richmond that serve HK style breakfast but most just serve you quantity versus quality. The restaurant offers a selection of different noodle soups which you can make a combo by adding $4. The restaurant is known for their pineapple buns and you can upgrade from your toast for an additional $1.80. We ordered the chicken steak instant noodles and it was very tasty with a generous piece of chicken which didn't taste leftover like at other restaurants. The restaurant also gives you the small pack of sesame oil which is a nice touch. The scrambled eggs in the combo were perfectly cooked with a moist buttery flavour. The pineapple bun was warm and fresh; definitely worth the upgrade! The coffee was also brewed well. Overall I have to say the best HK breakfast in town.
Visited Ho Yuen Cafe for the first time on a Friday morning and had a very pleasant dining experience with my newborn and husband!nnWe ordered the following:n- Satay Beef in Instant Noodlesn- Luncheon Meat & Macaroni in Tomato Soupn- Salted Egg Wingsn- Real Pineapple Bunn- Kaya ToastnnThe quality of the food was great and we loved all the dishes we ordered! The food was served promptly, and my favourite was the salted egg yolk wings! The restaurant has an in-house bakery so all the pastries are made fresh on the day of - we loved how refreshing the real pineapple bun was.nnWe also ordered the HK milk tea and Yuen Yeung and it was so tasty. Definitely recommend for an authentic HK cafe experience.nnWould definitely be back here next time!
Very delicious and huge portion of luncheon meat and macaroni in tomato soup, top of the line pineapple bun with butter with crunchy top, scrambled egg is very juicy and soft with nice butter taste, hand-made fresh fish ball in curry is ok but curry sauce not spicy at all and I personally still prefer those fake fish balls haha. Milk tea is the best I found in Vancouver and Richmond. Cafe decoration is cozy and comfortable, spacious and neatly organized. I came at 2:30pm to avoid the lunch hour, so it is not crowded at all which is nice. Will definitely come back again for their famous ginger sauced beef in vermicelli and chicken pie.
Was pretty excited to try this new place out as I heard good things. Arrived for lunch on a weekday; to my disappointment, the food was just soso my bowl of noodles was tasteless. The pork chop on bun was pretty fatty and over fried... the service was average at best. The meal total was $36.50 for the 3 of us tax/tip not included. Not sure if I would ever go back.
The dishes are incredibly delicious. I like the Satay Beef Instant Noodles being a standout favorite. The menu is authentic and comprehensive, offering a wide variety of classic Hong Kong dishes. Highly recommended. The pineapple bun is also a must try.
