First time visiting Golden Ocean Seafood restaurant. Came here for my mothers 80th birthday. From the outside, plain appeal. Go up the stairs and through the door and restaurant looks very appealing, bright and lively.nnWe enjoyed the decor. Service was excellent, staff was very friendly and accommodating. Dim Sum was busy so having a reservation helps a lot.nnAll the food we ordered was great and very tasty. Eggplant shrimp was different and excellent! Traditional chicken feet dish was also excellent and had a different taste than what youll find if you ordered this at other restaurants.nnWould differently come here again.
One of the oldest dim sum places in Vancouver. Our go-to for dim sum! Love the braised shrimp with tofu or with eggplant. Fried taro is one of the best!
Its one of a typical dim sum place. Generally good foods. The service was not very attentive, they shouls label the teapot, what type of tea they have. And servers come with plates of foods asking if you want, but it was too excessive, ie very 10sec, server come and asking... I was looking forward to the pork feet with ginger in red vinegar and the meat wasnt as tender as I wished...nnI would recommend the beef tendon, which was much bigger portion than other dim sum places. Sorry, I quickly finished that dish without taking the photo.nnAlso thr chicken noodle was good too.nnNot recomending the halibut, $38 for 2 pieces of pan fried fish wasnt a good value...nnTheu charge tea for kids over 5.
This place used to be a popular spot on Saturdays, but now it’s just okay. We were there between 10-12, and it wasn’t even busy. I would only return out of convenience or if other places are full. While not everything was bad, the flavors were lacking, which was disappointing since I was really craving dim sum
Golden Ocean Seafood Restaurant is our favorite place for dim sum in Vancouver BC. We have come here many times whenever we visited Vancouver. The team members are so friendly even when they are very busy. We have tried many different items, and they are all very good. This time, we ordered Bean Curd Rolls with Oyster Sauce, Deep Fried Taro Cake, Steamed Shrimps & Chives, Pan Fried Turnip Cake, Pa Fried Shanghai Style Buns, and Deep Fried Black Sesame Balls. They are all super delicious. We cannot wait to come back again!
