We were in the area and decided to give Neptune Palace a try. We’ve visited their other locations before and noticed the quality can vary, so we were curious about this one.nWe were seated quickly upon arrival, which was a good start. The Fried Razor Clam in black bean sauce were seasoned well—fresh and not overly salty. However, the Stir Fried Crystal Noodle w/Pickled Veggie was bland, with the only flavor coming from the pickled vegetables. The Crispy Purple Rice Rolls with Prawns stood out as the highlight of the meal. The generous portions, with a soft rice wrap on the outside and crunchy fried prawns and water chestnuts on the inside, created an interesting contrast in texture. The dipping sauce complemented it perfectly.nUnfortunately, the Bean Curd Wraps w/Pork & Mushroom in Abalone Saucenwas disappointing—it had plenty of filling but lacked flavor.nService was a major letdown. After we were seated and served, no one came back to check on us or change dirty plates. Even when it was time to pay, I had to wave repeatedly to get attention and eventually walk around to find a staff member. To my surprise, she asked me to bring the order sheet to her! It’s clear they were severely understaffed during peak hours.nIf you’re looking for dim sum, I’d recommend heading to Richmond instead. There are more options there with better service, quality, and value for money.
Spacious comfortable restaurant. Decent size dim sum. All dishes we ordered were delicious. Free parking on p2 and p3.nnCame here for their Tuesday duck set - it’s good enough at this price point. However, the service tonight was subpar. The pork dish was wayyy too sweet.
Private room located at the South East corner of SW Marine Drive and Cambie...nnService was impeccable: attentive, courteous, engaging; discreet and unobtrusive when required, available, as if by magic, when needed.nnFor me, dining involves the senses; all contributing to one's overall enjoyment of the experience...in a city with a wealth of options for Asian fare, it is difficult for any restaurant to distinguish themselves...plating is one of the simplest means to elevate dishes and, serves as a subtle way to differentiate oneself from one's fellow dining establishments. As well, details matter...Neptune's chefs are keenly aware of this...use of fresh pineapples versus canned, showcasing their knife skills with the chicken...of course, the preceding are secondary, as the true test is about taste, and, again, Neptune's chefs hit the mark, neither too heavy nor light-handed with seasonings, meats cooked to perfection, tender and flavourful....nnWe thoroughly enjoyed the food, the professionalism and efficiency of the servers, and the elegant surroundings...would return in a heartbeat!!!
Came for dinner and ordered a king crab set menu. All the dishes were served piping hot and well-seasoned. King crab was on the smaller side but restaurant also reduced the price of the set menu to account for it. Worked out better for us as the serving size was perfect for our group. Would come back again.nnFor first time visitors at this location - park at P2. There are a few reserved spots for the restaurant. If they’re full, park at any of the adjacent P2 spots and remember your stall number. You can fill in a form at the restaurant to receive free parking.
We go to Neptune Palace for dim sum and dinner from time to time. Very delicious king crab and Peking duck. Good service, too. Will come again.
