I came for the buy-one-get-one roast duck deal. The food was good, but the service was not great. No one changed the dirty plates on our table, and the teapot was empty with no refill. The washroom was not clean, and there were no paper towels. Overall, it didn’t feel like the level of a Michelin one-star restaurant. I hope they can improve.
The restaurant is truly one of the most amazing, clean, and welcoming places I’ve visited in a long time. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting, and the staff made us feel comfortable right away. I originally expected the prices to be far outside my budget—especially for a Michelin restaurant—but I was pleasantly surprised to find that they offer a range of affordable options without compromising quality or experience.nnThe service was exceptional from start to finish. Gordon, the manager, personally looked after my friends and me, ensuring we had everything we needed. He was incredibly attentive, especially when it came to our allergy concerns, taking the time to confirm ingredients and make sure every dish was safe and prepared with care. That level of attention and professionalism made a huge difference and really elevated the entire evening.nnThe combination of outstanding service, delicious food, and a comfortable, friendly environment makes this restaurant stand out above the rest. I would recommend this place 1000% to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just grabbing a nice meal, this restaurant is absolutely worth it.
We came here mainly for their Beijing BBQ duck and it did not disappoint us. This restaurant has a 1 Michelin Star distinction and is one of the 10 restaurants with such distinction in Vancouver.nnWe made reservation in advance and specifically mentioned that we would preorder the duck. In fact, you are required to preorder the duck 24 hours in advance if you want to have it during your visit.nnThe service was fantastic, and also somewhat expected for a restaurant with Michelin Star distinction. We got the white glove treatment throughout. The decor was good and provides a vibrant but cozy atmosphere for restaurant guests.nnThe food was great and also pleasing to be able to have the table side service for preparing the duck for you.
It was just OK. Nothing that would make me want to come back. Went here for lunch as a group of 9.nWas really excited for the food but it was very disappointing. The noodles were served cold. The premium caviar duck was not worth the upgrade. The regular duck was also meh. The wagyu truffle was salty. Plus, we had the preset menu and strangely so many substitutes were made vs what was on the menuI. I don’t understand the Michelin rating.nI did like the truffle egg with prawn and the spicy frog legs.nSadly I don’t think this place lives up to the hype or price tag.nnNot pictured is the rice, noodles and steamed fish.
10/31/2025nTonight we visited for my Partners 31st birthday. I mentioned this is the notes on the reservation but there was nothing extra special to happen. That that it's expected but being a highly rated long standing star restaurant I had high hopes for helping me make the night extra special.nWe arrived early and we're greeted by the front man opening the door for us, always a great gesture. They were happy to accommodate us early and found our table. With only a few other tables taken in the whole restaurant the ambiance was Serene. We gazed around taking in the whole experience. We were seated with the assortment of menus for offerings.nWe ordered our choice of tasting menu and drinks shortly after chilled waters were brought to the table.nThe drinks only took a few mins to arrive. I had the suntori old fashioned, it just seemed kind of average to me like an old fashioned i could get anywhere but for about $16 it was okay.nMy partner had the daquari and said it was okay as well.nThey brought out the $298 tasting menu plate by plate. Our waiter guided us through each of the ingredients, preparation and knowledge about the dish. Some of the show pieces like the duck slicing were a nice table side treat.nI also ordered some shots and the bartender was happy to pour us a sample so we could decide on something we liked.nCome hungry! That is nearly all I can say other than you should experience this yourself!nAt the end of the service we were gifted little card holders and we're graciously walked out open doors.nThankful for the staff in helping us celebrate a special occasion.
