Was profiled at the self checkout at this Superstore Metrotown location. The employee she stood close behind me and made sure I was scanning the few items I had. When I noticed someone was close behind me, I realized what she was doing. I asked her if I could help her with something, she glared and sneered at me then walked away. She didn't even say anything. I would have thought differently if she would have said that she thought I was having difficulty I wasn't with scanning. Superstore if you are scared people are stealing your items, you should do the same for everyone, not just the visible minorities. You should also get rid of the self checkouts and employ more workers. I believe financially you are doing quite well. Also where is the polite customer service? You are not even hiding the fact that you are profiling. I'm sure I won't be the only one and I'm certainly going to look for a store that treat people with respect. Do better!!!
Superstore is located inside Metrotown. The deals and items here are priced lower, so we make it our grocery destination. It offers a wide variety of items and never disappoints. Free parking is just outside the mall entrance. When you need cloths, other household items, and, has a pharmacy it is just to the right of the grocery entrance which makes it an ideal one stop shop.
Will never shop here again. First of all several items that were marked on sale I was charged full price for didn’t notice till got home as had a very large amount of items. Second of all more than one item very expired from October 2024. And 3 rd I was just cooking a pork carnitas I bought from there pc brand and there was a metal rod with black plastic on the outside of it will never ever shop superstore again
Looked for quite some time to find staff to let me into the change room and when I finally did, she said “they were full. Did someone leave?” I struggled to point out that I wasn’t the one that should be monitoring that situation. Every time I come to this superstore, the staff are hard to find and quite unpleasant.
I just left Super Store, and unfortunately, the lady at the self-checkout was quite rude and impatient. I understand that everyone has off days, but customer service requires a level of patience and respect. I hope the store will consider additional training for employees, as it's important they know how to handle all types of customers with empathy and professionalism.
