Pyramid Point Trailhead

How have I never posted a review for Pyramid Point! This is one of my absolute favorite hikes! A bit steep but its a really slow incline, so really any one can do it. So if you have a bad hip, don't worry, just take your time. The view at the top is well worth it. Fave time to go is sunset, but it's also my go to for a nice picnic on the weekend. Once you get to the top, you continue to your right, there is a very small path that will lead you to the famous dust bowl. That part is a bit more trickier, so if you aren't in good shape don't go down that way.

This is my favorite spot in the state of Michigan. As a Michigan native, I’m always searching for beautiful scenery for photographs. I drive all the way from Metro Detroit to hike this (very short) trail a couple times a year. It’s about a half mile walk, couldn’t take more than fifteen minutes, and the payoff is insane. The view from the top of the dunes is unmatched, especially since you’re away from the madhouse of the main part of Sleeping Bear. It’s becoming more popular, but it’s still worth it. Jumping down the dunes is super fun, but the crawl back up isn’t for the faint of heart, so beware. If you want to go to the bottom, be prepared. It’s super far down, and you can’t actually see the bottom from the top. The warning signs aren’t kidding, so be safe. But have fun in this beautiful place! Don’t miss it :)

Nice hiking trails. Fantastic views of Lake Michigan from the top of the dune cliffs.

One of the most beautiful places in the state of Michigan! On a clear / sunny day the water looks almost tropical... its a must see if you are in the area. The hike up to the point is pretty easy and appropriate for all ages.

Excellent view of northern Lake Michigan. It is a steep climb to the top of the dune but only about 0.7 miles. The map says a 2.7 mile trail but you don't have to take the whole loop to see the view. Dog friendly if on a leash.
