This is a GREAT hospital. Everyone is always helpful and friendly. In the past I went to the providence in NE Portland, then went to kaiser for care. Kaiser is horrible and this providence Saint Vincent has given me more care and felt completely comfortable in their care as well.
Thank you

Horrible trips that could have put my life in danger last three visits.
Horrible trips that could have put my life in danger last two visits. I was undergoing mental and physical crisis for over a month after being on opiates after a painful neck surgery for 3 months and spending a long period of time recovering in bed. The admitting staff gives you hope that everything will be ok. Then when I entered these three times it was not the case. The first most recent trip for opiate withdrawal was horrible. It took the doctor over 3 hours to order a Clonidine patch from the internal pharmacy. 3 hours to get someone to bring a clonidine patch! . The worst thing is I am not an opiate addict. I don't even use them anymore. It took great measures to get well on my part after the fact. Meanwhile they would not give me anything for pain. The nurse disappeared and they left me with no way to call the nurse. They did not monitor my pulse, blood pressure. They made sure I could not press the nurse button to call out. I was calling for a nurse. I might as well have been invisible. They let me cry and squirm around. I was there approximately 5 hours or more. The doctor and nurse made it seem like it was my own fault that my body became addicted after surgery. They told me "you don''t need anymore pain medicine". They could detox me first right? The doctor gave me this patch and sent me home without a prescription. For 3 months on Opiates. The next time i was there I had a mental breakdown within on week after that. The doctor did not even ask me about my mental status, only if I wanted to commit suicide. They gave me a pill sedative and sent me home. Then I had a bladder problem called cystitis the next week brought on by bedrest. I cried in pain there and i had the rudest loudest nurse and the doctor kept saying "we need to solve the problem! Not sedate you or give you pain meds". My bladder was holding a ton of water and it would not come out. The nurse brought a chair in and told me to push! She kept yelling at me to go to the bathroom! I was in so much pain. Patients were walking by and looking very concerned. I could barely breathe. Finally they took a scan and put in a catheter system to take home. The hospital staff there is 50%. Meaning that I have been there sick more than a few times and you either get a good doctor, bad nurse. A bad doctor, good nurse, or you get neither. In most favorable cases you get a good doctor and good nurse that work together quickly to solve your problem. That's what all of them need to be doing! Not just 50% and that is the scary part. You don't know what you are getting into. I will never go there again to be diagnosed for a severe problem. I have a hospital that I trust now and I will go there in case of an emergency. It's been a hard year, but I will make it. Thanks for reading. If you have your whole family with you and private insurance you get treated much better. They don't like people that have Oregon Health Plan.

The labor & delivery medical team I had was incredible. I had a long labor & was positive if have to have a cesarean. They were in no rush to make that happen, which I appreciate. They were all so positive & calming. I feel lucky to have had the experience I with this staff for my first child. The nurses were the best & were very supportive in what we wanted during labor.

I went in for eye surgery and could have not gotten better service from every single person I encountered. From the info desk gal to all the people that made my stay so comfortable. I can not think of one single thing that could have been done differently to make my stay better. I thank every single person for their kind and competent care. I can't say enough good.
