Lovely local, neighborhood. High quality ingredients, super friendly service, and a great option to visit. Salad and tiramisu were standouts for us! Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly at lunchtime! There’s a high chair, and room for strollers at the back.
The vibe and atmosphere from when you walk in was fantastic. We went in a date night and got the Brussels sprouts, bolognese lasagna and the ricotta agnolotti. For dessert we got the tiramisu soft serve. The lasagna was soft and tender, albeit I wish there was a bit more sauce in between. The ricotta agnolotti was rich and delicious while also delicate. The Brussels sprouts was nice to cut through the richness of the other dishes. And wow, the tiramisu soft serve was the perfect end to a meal. The only reason a 4 was given for service was because it took about 30 mins for our food to come out, but I think the wait was due to the the lasagna. Otherwise, the service was great and friendly. I’ll definitely be returning, hoping to try some of the other dishes. Each main runs around $25-35.
We felt at home in this new cozy neighborhood Italian restaurant. Everything was perfect and the food is so delicious and fresh. I especially enjoyed and appreciated the “focaccia for scarpetta” - it reminded me of home. We will return!
The lasagna lived up to its excellent reputation. Amazing food. Great addition to this neighborhood.Food: 5/5
Checked out this new spot in the Oakwood Village area. Lunch was quiet but I heard dinner can get super busy with a line. I had the lasagne bolognese and the pear and Ginger shrubs drink. My friend has the canestri with a spicy rose. The pasta was great. I only wish it had more cheese on the lasagna. A good size portion came with the dish. Service was quick and friendly. Beautiful space and room for everyone without feeling squeezed in the room.
Salad was dressed perfectly acidic and a little bitter, just the way I like it. Calamari came out hot and the perfect texture. The bolognese lasagna was chef’s kiss and we also loved the cod and tiramisu sundae dessert!!!! The tagliatelle was well made pasta but the sauce needs some viscosity because it’s too soupy and doesn’t coat the pasta with flavour as you’d expect. Service was great and we got seated at 9pm with a walk in at 7:30pm.
Porzia’s menu changes frequently with a focus on seasonal ingredients, which allowed me to try one of the sweetest cantaloupes I’ve ever experienced. If you’ve ever had musk melon, the two slices in the prosciutto and melon $18 rivaled the prized melon in sweetness and went wonderfully with the freshly shaved Parma prosciutto, which was especially delicious when I sampled a slice covered in olive oil. One dish that’s constant on the menu is their lasagna, offered in a “classico” or “bolognese” format. Given I like my pasta saucier, we ordered the lasagne bolognese $26 a hefty brick of pasta with so many layers of pasta and cheese that sat in a pool of meat sauce and was covered with finely shaved cheese. The fresh pasta was silky and soft except for the top layer that’s broiled adding a crispiness to the otherwise soft dish. If you like pasta, you’ll swoon over this dish. And while it was delicious, it was also heavy and could use more sauce between the layers. What impressed me was the tagliatelle with red shrimp al limone $29, a lighter pasta that’s nonetheless a flavour bomb. I had to ask for a spoon to properly enjoy the sauce: a combination of chili peppers, rich olive oil, and slivers of garlic that ends with a lemon note that’s not overly acidic. After having bites of lasagna, I found the dish so refreshing and the tagliatelle chewy but still silky. Porzia’s you need to make this a staple. As a secondi we shared the acqua pazza sea bass $38, which consisted of two fair-sized pieces of perfectly poached fish cooked just to the point of flaking. The broth had a rustic feel to it with chunks of stewed onion, tomato, and artichokes amongst a host of herbs and white wine. If you like fish stews or bouillabaisse, this is the dish for you.
Fantastic from start to finish. Beautiful space. The menu was great, with something for everyone. That lasagna bolognese was made in heaven. I'm sure of it. We enjoyed it as takeout during Covid, but this was much more fun! The carbonara was perfect, as was the agnolotti. Great wines at reasonable prices . Our new favourite Italian!Food: 5/5
What a lovely new spot on Oakwood! The lasagne bolognese was piping hot, the pasta noodles inside were soft and delicious. We had the maritozzi bun at the end - heavenly - so soft and the cream was light. Great service and a beautiful atmosphere.Food: 5/5
