Patio Comfort

Buyers beware! We went to this store at the end of May 2022 in the hope to find an outdoor dining set since the storm of May 23rd had broken a big branch which fell on our patio furniture and completely smashed it. My parents were visiting so we took advantage of their trip to go shopping. When we walked in, we were approached by a young salesman. He was kind and knowledgeable. He spoke French with us since it is our first language. We found a set we liked and asked for a pricing so we could submit it to the insurance. He came back with the paperwork and gave it to me. I had a look at it and was on my way out when out of nowhere, an older woman who worked there and had ignored us until then approached us and while completely ignoring us, yet again, talked with the salesman asking him blunt questions: “are they buying it? What is this quote for? Insurance? did you add the 30-day quote expiry date? Etc…” right under our nose. It was clear that she thought we were only French speakers and were oblivious of the nasty situation developing in front of us. Little did she know that I was fully bilingual and understood what she was doing. She asked him to take the quote back from us and requested that he put down the price for July 2022. I gave him the quote back and to our surprise, when we received the quote back, it had increased of $1700 !!!! I asked him why the price was so different and he said it was the July price. I explained to him that the quote was valid for 30 days and even if we waited the whole 30 days to come back and buy it, we’d still be in June! So why apply the July price jump?!? He shrugged of powerlessness and discomfort and had no explanation for us. He was TOLD to do this by his superior and I dont think I have to explain to anyone why….. so yes: they have great furniture but I can never trust them again after what I witnessed. I understand covid has been hard on many businesses but this is not the right way of catching up on their losses.

I am writing this review because I don't feel some of the reviews here reflect the kind of service I have received from the people at Patio Comfort. I first dealt with this business about 4 years ago when I outfitted a new patio area. The woman who helped me was excellent. She was patient and knowledgeable. We were delighted with the delivery and set up and returned 2 years later to purchase a large cantilevered umbrella with the same satisfaction. Last week, I made an appointment and was assisted by Paul who helped me order some chairs and a fire pit. I have had nothing but quality products and good service from this company and the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that everyone can strive to improve.

Just left this store where my family and I were treated horribly. The employee gave us zero pleasantries or customer service. We are not objecting to any of these measures in place to prevent the spread of COVID we all had masks and we all sanitized our hands immediately upon entering; however, the way he went about enforcing all these measures was extremely rude and left us with the impression that he thought we were disgusting and dirty and inconveniencing them with our presence in the store. I understand the pandemic is scary and people are navigating this unfamiliar new way of operating their business, but this was not the way to go about it. You still have to be kind to customers while explaining your safety measures and maybe say hello to welcome us into your store?

Just left this store. Very rude service. Older gray haired tall lady stood about 12 feet from us and asked us a question. When she did not hear what we had said she scowled and motioned that we approach her when we were standing on the designated waiting spots as indicated by the foot markings. Can honestly say I am all for the covid restrictions but her attitude left us feeling disrespected and beneath her. Asked if we had an appointment?!! It’s a shop selling products. Wasn’t aware we needed an appointment. She was not friendly and actually appeared irritated with us! Can honestly say we will never return to this store. Would rate the store at a 0 but have to pick at least one star!

Helpful service, huge selection - especially umbrellas. Pricy, but excellent quality - some outdoor pieces have 15 year warranties.
