I only learned about this place when I was on my way into Ottawa looking up other furniture stores in the same area. I saw the 5 star rating and figured I might as well pop in, we were driving past anyway and you never know. Sure glad we did. First impression was they had some interesting furniture selections, not what you would normally see at the box stores. As we started to look around, a sales associate asked started to ask the right questions to pinpoint what we really wanted. Megha was very knowledgeable and was not afraid to be honest. She walked us right over to a particular leather sofa set and said "just try sitting in this, it will be perfect for you both because you are tall." And she was right. We ended up ordering two in the colour of leather we wanted. But what was really astounding was the price for a Canadian made sofa with genuine leather (full surface area, not just the cushions, and the leather comes from one supplier in Toronto so they know what the quality is), maple frames, vertical and horizontal springs under the cushions and high density foam cushions, all of which have zippers so you can change/add to the foam over time if you find you want more/less support. It was a no tax event and the sofas were on sale and we paid $2,800 for two. Even if they were not on sale it would still have been less than the price for one (and really crappy quality in comparison) at any other store new. I would recommend that anyone looking for a sofa or chairs stop in there first before going to the larger box stores and actually speak with Megha. She won't steer you wrong.

Amazing customer service from Megha! She was very informative and was also not pushy at all. Would definitely recommend stopping here if you are in the market for sofa's - they have quite a large selection and the boxing week sales were pretty good - discounted from original price, no tax and free delivery. Ended up purchasing a high quality faux leather sofa with chaise for only $1495 (tax and delivery incl.). Delivery will occur in 1 week (only because we are off that day, otherwise they would have delivered it on Jan 3 due to the holiday closure). Another great part of this store is that most of their items are canadian made and in stock. If they are not in stock, they can usually get them in a reasonable amount of time (less than a month like many other stores). Overall great experience here, definitely stop in if you are in the market. Great that we were able to "shop local".

Although the showroom is relatively smaller than comparable box stores, the selection was not lacking. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, to the point of keeping our two young children entertained to enable us to concentrate fully on finding exactly what were looking for. Delivery was as described and on time to the minute. The delivery crew set the furniture up and took the packaging away with them. We will definitely be returning to Palace Furniture for our next purchase.
