It’s all about location, and that’s about it. The hotel itself and rooms are overall dirty. Everything is need of a facelift. Room had cobwebs on lights, carpets looked dirty, wallpaper peelings, windows and mirrors dirty. The elevator was extra dirty especially the carpet and buttons. I’m far from a clean freak so it’s a big deal when I’m noticing areas that just made me want to have hand sanitizer when touching anything. The bed and pillows were super comfortable!
We recently stayed the night here at the Park Place Hotel and I can honestly say It was one of the best trips we’ve ever had. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub and kid area so much. It was everything we wanted and more. The views were phenomenal. Downtown Traverse City had so many wonderful spots to go visit and see. The service was amazing Aaron the front desk attendant was beyond helpful and informative. We cannot wait to come back!!
Terrible service and old facilities. Doesn’t make up for the good location.nnA family member says this hotel has a degree of haunted. Based on our experience, it has a significant lack of management.nnRead the following and remember the room cost us $550/night. Don’t count on anything from this place other than good location.nnHow to start?n- Elevators broken and slow waiting long time for elevator to arrive or finally giving up and walking up and down stairs; elevator display to show which floor it was on is flashing gibberish; some interesting noises in the elevator;n- Large stain on carpet in our bedroom;n- General poor upkeep and cleanliness in common areas;n- Forgot to clean our room one day, cleaned room very late next day due to “short staff”, forgot to leave us toilet paper;n- Messed up our return transportation to the airport due to “employee error” and then promised a taxi paid for by them but driver then asked for payment from us at the airport. Called afree our flight home waited on hold again. Asked for manager and front desk person says she is the only person available. Have to describe once again the taxi payment situation. While she was pleasant, the long wait on hold and the need to ask for a refund of our cab fare was infuriating.n- On hold EVERY time you try to reach the front desk even when calling from your room, the last time for 29 minutes.
Stayed here for our wedding night along with many of our guests. After speaking to the front desk we were told the hotel was full and we couldn’t be moved to a new room. After nearly causing a scene we were moved to a new room. The following are truly unacceptable for a $500 room night, more than one would pay in a major city like Chicago ‍nn1. Dorito crumbs on bedn2. Stains of unknown brownish yellow AND red on bedn3. Giant mold stains in the shower ceilingn4. Red wine/blood stain in bed mother of grooms roomn5. Toilet not flushed upon check in mother of grooms roomnnJust imagine if we were unable to move to another room? What on earth?nnWe heard about this hotel as I grew up in the area and knew it was the only option downtown TC - we didn’t consider indigo as there are only a handful of guest rooms. This hotel needs serious upgrades. The elevators are old, everything is old. Not in the vintage, cute way. In the bad kind of old way. For this price we paid, more than most hotels in CHICAGO and other major cities…we really expected more.nnAnother thing that shocked us was that after our wedding, we arrived back to the hotel to get our things for a night on the town. We were in the room for 2 minutes. We come back downstairs and leave the hotel towards the roundabout. A staff member comes chasing us outside and says “Are you on floor 6? Yeah someone’s complaining so you need to KEEP IT DOWN!”nnHow would this staff member know that it was us making noise? I can assure you it WAS NOT as we simply went upstairs to grab a wallet. This is beyond inappropriate for a staff member to approach guests in this way and then even more so to make assumptions. There are many rooms on floor 6…it felt accusatory and strange that he was in the parking lot chasing us outside.
Was given a Pet Friendly room with 2 queen beds. I had no dog but they claim that was all that was available. It smelled like a dog. The toilet was very low. Seemed like it was made for a Kindergarten bathroom. The tub did not drain. 3 inches of water while showering. The pet friendly rooms are all separate above the parking garage. Overpriced...I will not be returning. The staff was nice and it is walking distance to all the shops.
