Wow! This place is incredible. Perfect way to unplug and reconnect with nature, but also spark some adventure. It's great for any skill level. The mile path is pretty easy, but those who are more experienced, or at least more adventurous, have the option to go explore anywhere they like. Jonathan, who greets you at the entrance was so helpful and kind. This was one of the best things I have done in a very long time. Can't wait to bring my family back here!
Had the pleasure of taking a nice relaxing hike at Panama Rocks. On a hot day, this is the BEST place to go since every rocky crevice is filled with shade and cool breezes. Tons of fun for kids that love to climb and explore and test their limits. There are gentle hiking paths, hard climbs, and easy climbs. Also available now I’d Axe throwing!!! Also be sure to pick up a few things at their gift shop like a T-shirt or a bottle of pure local honey! Divine!
It was an awesome place to explore! You could go into little caves...there were tunnels between the rocks..you could climb on them....we had a great time. Plenty of parking....very reasonable to get into the park. Owners are very nice....please don't litter! They try very hard to keep it clean and beautiful.
Best adventure spot in Greater Erie area! Beautiful big boulders, endless crevasses to explore-fun for all ages, even my two-year-old. I’ve been going since a kid in the early 80s and the ancient geological formations never disappoint, and the amenities have only improved. Although I now live overseas, I make it a point to visit Panama Rocks each time I’m home in the Erie area. Panama Rocks rocks!
My kids and I love to adventure, and this place was on our summer bucket list!! So glad we went. Worth the small fee it is to explore. There are drop offs and you are warned of them at the beginning before you go on the trails. If you take little ones just make them stay close to you
Probably one the coolest in the way of rock parks ..they let you go off trail and climb between rock formations ..at your own risk of course.. you also have to sign a liability waiver ...there was no time frame for hanging out in a cave or any place you can cool off between large rocks were it was several degrees cooler..place was clean yes some slippery spot but nothing a healthy grandma could not tackle ..you can also make up your own rt for super hard challenge
They do a great job maintaining the trails and supporting native flora and fauna. It looks like an ancient forest in the Jurassic Era. I loved every part of our exploration there! You got to be careful of your footing. But it's worth it for the risk.
What a blast! We arrived at 10:02 AM for a 10:05 AM online reservation. They open at 10:00 AM, so we were accompanied by roughly 20 other people in multiple other groups/vehicles. This led to a bit of congestion/logjamming initially on the trail, but as soon as we all began to branch off and explore all the little nooks and crannies this place has to offer we almost felt like we had the woods to ourselves! We stumbled upon a neat cave on our own just exploring off the main trail and later learned the this same cave once housed a counterfeiting operation! So cool! The staff was friendly and informative. I would advise wearing boots, but we barely slipped at all with our sneakers. We spent about two hours here. The restrooms are very clean and modernized. They were cooking food for sale, too, but we already had lunch plans elsewhere. Please be respectful of this property. We found the occasional piece of litter here and there, which is NOT cool, folks! This place is a treasure and should be experienced in all of its splendor by our posterity!
Good time climbing around the rocks. Trail is about a mile long with 12 distinct formations to explore. Our kid, 5 and 6, really enjoyed it. works recommend 1.5-2hrs for visit. New restrooms
Good place to visit with visitors from out of town. Just make sure whoever is with you that they don't have troubles walking as there are some rough terrain that may be tough for them to navigate.
