Established in 1950, Paisan’s Italian Restaurant remains one of Madison's favorites for Thin Crust Pizza, Homemade Pasta and trademark sandwiches.

Story

-Paisan's features one of Madison's finest outside dining areas. During our warm months, our patio features a relaxing outdoor environment like no other. Sorry, no reservations on the patio.
-We DO take reservations inside for parties 8 and larger and NOT on Friday or Saturday nights.

-Street and ramp parking available.
-Metered street parking at $1.75/hour
-Ramp parking $2.00/hour. Free parking with validation Monday-Friday after 5:00pm and all day Saturday and Sunday.
-Ramp only accepts credit and debit cards. NO CASH.

Great happy hour prices for drinks and appetizers. Fun place to meet up after work. Great view if you stay for dinner. Food is decent, service is pretty good. It's a Madison go to. Lots of people really like it.

Being a Madison resident my whole life I've grown up hearing about Paisan's. However, somehow is 23 years I had never been. The pizza was thin crust and very good due to addition of onion in their sauce. It was a quiet and relaxed atmosphere that my family enjoyed to celebrate a birthday. I would recommend to anyone looking for a great Italian option to finally break the chain restaurant restraints.

I have always loved Paisan's, and I always will. The porta salad is my craving! The pizzas are thin and crispy, the pasta dishes are to die for, and the bread is perfect. During this last visit, we were seated in the circular room overlooking Lake Monona. It was a beautiful view, and the room itself is beautifully designed (the wallpaper, the light fixture, the unique "French door" room divider). But the acoustics are insane in that room, and it is loud... Super loud. There was quite a large table of guests when we were there last, and that may be an anomaly. But I would not choose to sit in that gorgeous room again if there was a large group of people dining (unless I was part of the large group, of course!) There are other seating areas and very private booths for romantic or quieter dining. I also wanted to mention the bar. It's also rounded, and has a cool feel. The bartender is a whiz, and made me a bourbon Manhattan, the likes of which I've never before tasted. Yum.

Went to Paisan's for lunch. Staff really needs customer service training. Waited about 10 minutes once seated to be acknowledged. The acknowledgement was a mumbled "ready to order" and things did not get any better from there. No smiles or name tags on any staff. Food is good, but a little more consideration of customers would be nice!!!

Excellent food & service. Great view from back side of Lake Monona & large outdoor patio off the front bar.
