Oregon Community Credit Union

I've always had good experiences with Oregon Community Credit Union. The only downside I can think of is their lack of presence in Portland.

Usually have a okay experience here, but I went to pay a car payment the other day and the lady who helped me was so rude, and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. My payment was only a couple days late. For the first time in 2.5 years I might add, and the lady could not stop telling me how bad of a fee I was going to get from this, how I should pay more than the original amount since the payment was late and honestly it was really embarrassing . Embarrassing enough for me to not go to this branch again.

They were very helpful. I have a car loan through OCCU, and I had a hard time with my insurance agency and getting the needed paperwork in to OCCU. The people that helped me were so nice and competent as well. They literally talked to my insurance agency while I was there and sorted everything out, and added a note to my account to keep good communication with everyone else at OCCU that the insurance was in the process of being worked out, and that it was just a matter of waiting on my insurance to send the correct documentation, so that I wouldn't be penalized or anything. It was quick, easy, & painless!

Best bank in town. Meant to get away from the big banks years ago, and if you're an Oregonian this is an option you'd be silly to overlook. Their "Remarkable Checking" accounts are great. If you fulfill some small requirements each month that most people do anyway (1 direct deposit, a certain number of debit card transactions), and you get ALL ATM fees anywhere waived, earn interest on your accounts, and other benefits. This particular branch has great free cookies on Mondays and Fridays.
