I'm keeping this on my favorites for now as I want to go back and try more of their Gelato and other items. I had a double chocolate dipped cheesecake. It was very rich and satisfying but it actually wore down my sensitive gums a bit, probably from the texture of the chocolate topping. It tasted great though!
Among all the gelato/ice cream shops in the area, this offers the most flavors. Pretty much any flavor you can think of. They offer 1 or 2 scoops in a cup or a cone, but its a bit pricey. The gelato is really nice and flavorful, but leans more towards icy. I really like the pineapple and spumoni flavors.
I visited them in Dec 2022 and I am so disappointed by the size of the cup. I ordered two scopes and the ice cream was melting all over my hand. The cup could barely hold a single scope let alone two scopes. The flavors were nice, that I'll give them but the size of the cups is just disappointing.
Very average gelato, horrible sorbet pure ice. Unbelievably bored and monotone indifferent server. Carbon copy of several of its type along the tourist trap row. $$
I enjoyed coming into this shop a few times while I was in Victoria. The best thing is definitely the selection- they advertise having 66 flavours, and they had almost 40 of those when I went in. There were tons I wanted to try, but I ended up having Fig and Honey, Sweet Lemon, and then 2 sorbets on a seperate occasion- Watermelon and Kiwi. The quality of the gelato was not bad. Pretty smooth and well-textured, though I was a bit disenchanted to see them use an ice cream scoop instead of a gelato spatula. The girl made my scoops perfectly round, though, so I didn't mind too much! I would actually say their gelato is pretty good even though it's not the most authentic or high quality. I would certainly try some other flavours! I would skip the sorbet though unless you're dairy free. It was kind of like eating a slushie- small crunchy ice crystals, artificial flavours and colours and not the velvety-smooth sorbetto that is customary at gelaterias like Mosi. Overall, it was good for what it was, though. A quick stop with tons of options and delicious looking flavours in a touristy- sort of shop. Not gourmet or artisan, but pleasant. Here are the flavours they had when I went in in order shown Picture 1: Maple walnut, green tea, banana fudge, Belgian chocolate Vanilla mango, Irish cream, coconut, salted caramel Picture 2: Hazelnut, Espresso almond crunch, Cappucino cookie, Jack daniels Straciatella, BC berry blast, Vanilla bean, Mint choc chip Picture 3: Mango, rum raisin, Choc orange, Butter pecan, Picture 4: Cookies 'n cream, Maple cookie crunch, Rocky road, Pecan mudslide Fig and honey, nanaimo bar, Black cherry Picture 5: Choc peanut butter, Pistachio, Spumone Tiramisu, Sweet lemon, Orange cream Picture 6: Berry cheesecake, Strawberry cheesecake, White choc raspberry, Belgian cookie crunch, Wild strawberry, Bubble gum, English toffee crunch, Choc raspberry Picture 7: sorbet Chocolate,???, Coconut? Strawberry, Pineapple, Exotica, Picture 8: sorbet Watermelon, Lime, Lemon Forest Fruits, Kiwi, Blood orange
Delicious and inventive flavours, and very friendly service! Will absolutely recommend! Upon my first visit, I tried the Blood Orange flavour, with the Fig & Honey. And upon my return a few days later, I tried BC Berries & Nanaimo Bar. Loved them all!
Tasty but way overpriced. I ordered a coffee flavored ice cream 1 scoop because that's all I could afford for the day. Even 1 scoop costed $7.5 and it wasn't even a large scoop, especially at this price point. Ice cream itself was excellent, comparable to name brands, but again, at this price point, I expected it to taste better and be worth the price. 1 Scoop of their ice cream is worth $2-3 the most.
Terrible customer service, when my son is still thinking to get a Gelato or sorbet of strawberry flavor. The guy already rushing my son for cone or cup. While there are no one in the shop and 4 staff is standing behind the counter. I have no idea what they are rushing for. The taste is bad, the size of the scoop is small, the price is way over. Don't come here and just go opposite for a chocolate ice cream.
This place is a tourist trap and should be avoided if possible. The so-called Italian gelato tastes and feels very little like the authentic product one finds in Italy. It better approximates the ice cream one might find in a corner grocery store--after it has partially thawed and re-frozen, bringing forth its attendant tiny, icy particles. The cups used resemble tiny muffin liners made of plastic and they are wholly impractical and inadequate for the job. The plastic muffin liner is impossible to use without spilling and getting a mess over one's self. There is no insulation as with a typical paper cup, nor the ability to hold the product without pressing your hand up against the gelato. This means your hand simultaneously freezes and causes the so-called gelato to melt all over you. The staff are pleasant though the process by which patrons are served is inexplicable, with two of the four members behind the counter invariably idle at any one time. A pleasant family in the line in front of me asked for a sample. They were rebuffed and told there were no samples, and that the owner was watching on video. I expect if samples were offered, a good number of potential customers would determine this gelato is not the real deal and decline to go through with a purchase.
My favourite ice-cream shop for gluten-free ice cream and cones! So many delicious flavours and great service. It's a little pricey but worth it.
