Cold Comfort

Cold Comfort Ice Cream was highly recommended to us, since my husband is an ice cream fanatic and I'm dairy-free. We walked over on a very warm day and found this place tucked around the backside of a building in a parking lot. You'd have to know it was back there, but it made it feel like a more local, less touristy place. With a 4.7 rating, lots of locals do know about it. Love their motto: Doing whatever the hell we feel like since 2010. Friendly customer service and they answered questions. I was thrilled to be able to order a small cup one scoop of very creamy vegan mint chocolate chip $4 and my husband ordered The Plain Jane ice cream sandwich $8, which was vanilla ice cream in a chocolate cookie sandwich. Very good and I'm so glad we tried this local favorite. Very good prices. They were out of some items, so I'd go early if you have a favorite. Pints also available. They have the cutest delivery vehicle, too.

This is a nice little shop just outside the city centre for some cold treats! The shop itself is only tiny but the space where you can park, sit, wait in line and enjoy your food is unique and spacious. Nice to see some delicious ice cream options and some interesting others as well.

If you also believe an ice cream sandwich should be wedged between two soft and chewy cookies, then you are in luck! The vegan plain jane is a classic and perfection. The salty chocolate chip cookie is a great pairing to the vanilla filling. Don’t walk… run!

I checked their website before visiting, and I was excited since there were soo many flavors! But there were only ice cream sandwiches and no ice cream scoops/bars, with limited flavors. I guess I was also expecting a storefront and not a little stand in the back of a parking lot. I found the choc o'clock to be very rich with the chocolate cookie much sweeter than the chocolate ice cream.

Love the vast range of unique flavours they offer, but gourmet does come at a price! They offer many dairy and gluten-free options, which is great to see at a local vendor. Google Maps location is off apparently their current place is now their new location, so we both drove and walked past it a couple times in the dark. Service was great; they knew all of the available options for all the flavours we inquired about off the top of their head. A group of us shared several items, ranging from half pints of ice cream and sorbet, to a few different sandwiches. Flavours are very distinct, and we all enjoyed most of them especially the Hoyne Dark Matter, but the cookie for the chocolate carmel sandwich was shockingly salty.

This was a new experience and a local favorite. Delicious regular and lactose free ice cream sandwiches and pints. We had a plain Jane ice cream sandwich. Vanilla ice cream between chocolate chip cookies. So yummy!!! They also sell various flavors in pints. I totally recommend this place if you can find it.

Ooooohhh man! What a treasure this place is! The ice cream sandwiches were so good both in cookie and ice cream. They even have dairy free and vegan options. The staff were helpful in explaining the differences between the sandwiches. Will definitely come back!

This is a Hidden Gem in Victoria. Amazing service and the Ice Cream taste, out of this world!! Half of the cup was loaded with cherry and Raspberry. Will definitely revisit this gem place.

YES! You want to eat this stuff. Tried the special Sunday Sundae and was not disappointed - two scoops and a myriad of toppings to choose from. Incredible flavors!

the most overpriced ice cream i’ve ever got. we got the mini eggs ice cream and it only came in pint and we were so disappointed for what we paid. flavor wasn’t very good.
