Story

Welcome to our European Spa at the luxurious King Edward Hotel. Many of your already know our philosophy at Nouvelle maria Spa and Salon' we understand the stresses of modern life and we strive to create an oasis of calm within the clamour of the city. We stress health, rejuvenation and beauty.

Our facilities allow us to be a Spa in the finest European tradition. Our service list ranges form biological peels to anti-aging eye treatments. For the body we offer a variety of massages, herbal wraps and cellulite treatments. And then, of course, to polish the outer beauty, we offer hair colouring and styling, manicures and make-up for every day or for that glamorous evening.

The Spa is sunny and spacious. We invite you to linger and enjoy the separate facilities for men and women. You can order food and beverages form the room service menu of the King Edward Hotel kitchen. Our atmosphere is one of fresh flowers, soft music and hushed voices. Form the moment the doorman on king Street welcomes you into the lobby, we promise you will feel pampered and cared for. This is our commitment to you.

Was told $40 for a 25 minutes massage over the phone. I told the therapist that I can take a good amount of pressure. He asked if I wanted a deep tissue but failed to state there would be a price difference. They tried to charge me $70 for the massage. I refused. They told me $55 for the 25 minute Swedish massage, which I ended up paying. Very disappointed with the manager. She inferred that it was all my fault. Never going back!!

This is hands down the most surreal spa experience I have ever had. The spa decor was accurately placed in 1990 when it was opened. The facilities were beyond outdated: changerooms like an institution, showers musty and mouldy with the original shower heads, waiting area like my grandmothers tacky basement, ‘treatment’ rooms without a floor to ceiling wall in which my RMT could not walk around the the table and your neighbour could hear you, scummy floor and cabinetry ....it was appalling. The RMT was professional and competent but the ambiance was so unappealing that it made relaxation difficult . The shock is that it is physically attached the The Omni King Edward Hotel which precluded me from even reading the review prior to booking . For shame King Edward .

We attended this spa as a group of four ladies, the massage treatment was excellent but I was disappointed with the spa facilities. The change rooms were disgusting, the sauna lights never worked, the lounge area was outdated. This spa really needs an update. Plus when I was settling my bill the receptionist try to charge me extra money for the massage treatment.

I had the Nouvelle Maria Day spa package which lasted about 5 hours. This package includes a manicure, pedicure, light lunch, massage, facial, and light makeup. I loved every treatment I received. Staff were very friendly and professional. The massage was one of the best I've had- it was both relaxing but he also applied good deep pressure to get out the knots! Someone always made sure my cucumber water was topped up throughout my visit, which I really appreciated. The only thing I was disappointed with is that on the breakdown of prices the "package discount" was taken only from the massage...all other treatments were listed as the same price, which means if you are covered you can't claim very much for your RMT massage. It would be great if the package discount was distributed evenly across treatments. Otherwise If you are looking for a relaxing day I would highly recommend!
