What a fantastic community space - bright, welcoming, and well-run!nnThis North Toronto community centre is such a good place! The building has a beautiful open design with floor-to-ceiling windows and lots of natural light; it feels uplifting the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is calm but lively, with people of all ages enjoying fitness classes, swimming, yoga, or simply relaxing in the lobby.nnThe FitnessTO program here is very well organized, offering a variety of classes like Strength & Conditioning, Gentle Fit, Pilates, Yoga, and Zumba. The posted schedule is easy to follow, and the staff are always friendly and happy to help with registration or membership questions.nnI also appreciate how clean and well-maintained the space is — the front area, tables, and seating spots are great for a quick break or to socialize. It’s a perfect mix of recreation and community energy.nnHighly recommend checking it out, whether you’re joining a class, working out, or just looking for a friendly neighbourhood space to unwind.
I’ve been swimming there for a year until recently lost my wallet and phone at the change room. Be very careful if you are going there for swimming. Lockers are not safe even if it is securely locked. At least 4 persons lost their stuff in a week under my knowledge, while neither the community centre or police can do anything to prevent crimes happening there.
While I do love the community center in general, this review is about the two facilities I use: the pool and the weight room. Weight room is fine for the very cheap price they charge you to use it. The only issue is that instead of just buying regular disinfectant for people to wipe the machines with, they just have a bottle with vinegar, which isn't that good of a disinfectant, and also makes the weight room have this awful sweat and vinegar smell during peak hours. And the pool is great, the only issue is their schedule for the lane swim. Most people who work a regular 9-5 can only go on their evening hours which are very limited - 8pm to 9:30pm only 3 times a week used to be 4 but they cut it down for some reason?, and why so late? It'd be nice to be able to swim right after work, if the pool opened at 6pm or 7pm I think everyone would benefit. Again, I love the community center and I do think the weight room and lane swim are very fairly priced, but even for that price I expected to be able to swim more and not have to smell vinegar while working out
A community centre / fitness facility that offers a wide variety of individual and group activities, all year round. Staff are friedly and helpful.nnA good location, but on the smaller side compared to other City of Toronto Community Centres. Facilities include two pools Indoor and outdoor, tennis courts, gymnasium, running track and a small weight room with weight and cardio equipment. In addition, there are many other rooms used for other scheduled or group activities.nnThe best way to book an activity is online, although the city website is archaic and not intuitive by today's standards. Bookings can be made via telephone, but this requires some patience.nnThe grounds are spacious and provide plenty of green space, as it is part of Eglinton Park. There is underground parking, that is quite inexpensive at $1.00/hr. There is direct access to the building without getting exposed to inclement weather. There are wheel chair accessible entrances and elevators for this multi-level facility.nnThis property backs onto North Toronto Memorial Arena.nnThe reception / Check-in Desk has now been moved to the first floor by the main entrance.nnACCESSIBILITY: This is a two floor facility. There is an elevator that provides access from the underground parking lot through to the second level.
One of the best community centers in Toronto. Modern, lot of activities and great variety. Underground parking!!! That's FREE for anything under 1 hr. And 1hr is just $1. Great park nearby, skating rink. Hockey arena with free parking lot!. Big playground. I wish it had some coffee point nearby.
