Smashing IT! I ‍nnThe Joseph J. Piccininni Community Centre has been serving the community for many years now.nnIt's large scale facility offers many programs from sports, to swimming, to weights, to a drop in centre for all ages.nnCome and enjoy a dip in the pool, a stroll through and around the grounds.nnThe Centre is nestled in trendy St. Clair Avenue West offers many shops, cafes, restaurants etc.nnContact or drop in at the centre and speak to one of their very friendly staff to see what events or activities may be taking place that perhaps would interest you, a child or even a teenager.
My daughter is registered at this centre for gymnastics class next month. Checked out the facilities in advance. Great outdoor pool. Indoor pool also available. Nice neighborhood. Look out for an update to this review...
I’ve been coming to this pool since I was a child.nnIt’s been over 15 years since I’ve last been here. I finally came by with my toddler and he had an amazing time.nnThe pool wasn’t as crowded as I recalled when I used to come as a child, so that was amazing for me.nnThe water was cold, but the weather had been in the high 30’s feeling like 40’s so it was manageable and refreshing. However on a lower temperature day I would find it too cold.nnThe change rooms got a renovation. They’re now unisex change rooms as mentioned in other reviews. There are lockers but they are small and you need to bring your own lock.nnOverall it looked clean, however when we walked in there were clothes and all sorts of debris all over the ground - I believe the older woman who walked in before us said “oh my word - look at the lost and found bin”. It looked horrible and such an eye sore when walking in. I don’t know why the staff didn’t pick it up or brush it into the corner.
Great community pool with some shade and seating for the non swimmers..for all ages from babies to eighty year olds. A great swim was had by all. Staff are friendly and helpful. If you leave anything behind there's a lost property pile near the entrance/exit. Check opening times so you're not disappointed.
The community center space is perfect for anyone looking for lots of family activities and to keep the kids active in their everyday lives! Getting to the community center is very easy, using the metro and tram, as well as being easily accessible by taxis and private cars.nnThe outdoor area has a lap-style pool, with a slide, lounge chairs and bleachers. In the internal area there is a second swimming pool, also with a waterslide and grab bars for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility.nnThe indoor area also has an activity circuit for children, adapted bathrooms and changing rooms.nnThe space is free and subject to capacity, so evaluate the best day and time to attend.
