We stayed here on Monday night & the location was great. Very convenient for exploring downtown. The historic photos on the walls are a great touch. However, the room was very dark, even with the lamps. The bed was god awful, it was hard and lumpy, definitely in need of replacement! The shower curtain was also gross, yellow & had bright blue body wash stuck to it. It was fine for a one nighter.
Wanted something downtown and walking distance from water street, etc. great location. Funky old warehouse conversion. Room with king size bed was great. Big main room with chairs and desk. Big bathroom with bath and 2 person shower. Glass wall between bathroom and main room a bit odd. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was good, selection of fruit, muffins, croissants, yogurt and oatmeal. Only complaint about room was noise between rooms, could hear talking.
I’ve been to this hotel many times without issue. The best way to describe this visit was uncomfortable. The room looked carelessly cleaned. The toilet seat had debris, including hairs, on it. The tissue box only one box in the room had 2 tissues in it. The soap dispenser was pretty much empty. It was noisy after midnight, although the front desk did speak to the guests. There were people at the garbage box conveniently located below our window at different points through the night talking loudly and making noise. It has turned me from booking here again. The cost was not worth it. A little get away turned into a series of frustrations.
Great hotel in the very heart of St. John’s. Great spot if you are droning on George or water street. Staff were great and rooms were big. The Alexa that didn’t actually work was an interesting touch. We certainly had fun with it, despite it not working as a controller for the fire pace or TV. Might have suggested the money might have been better spent on carpeting or a few paint touch ups, but we were happy as it was. Breakfast very basic but got the job done. What I was a bit disappointed in was the patio and outdoor courtyard wasn’t being used. Of that bar was open it would be a banging little area. Still we’d stay again there for sure.
Comfortable, friendly hotel in an interesting wood-beamed historical building well located near the waterfront in St John's. Rooms are large. Beds are excellent. Stayed first and last night of a Newfoundland trip with friends. Front desk staff was extremely pleasant and helpful, e.g. on our return stay, we were checking out on a Sunday morning, when breakfast is typically set out at 8 a.m. To accommodate the early flight times that some of us had, they had breakfast laid out at 6:30. Great stays both times.
