Blue On Water

It’s always a pleasure to be back at Blue on Water, and my latest visit only reinforced why it’s one of my favorite spots in St. John's. The food, as always, was absolutely excellent, and the atmosphere remained warm and inviting — a perfect setting for a relaxed dinner.nnThis time, I brought a friend who recently relocated from France. Unfortunately, her dining experiences in St. John’s so far hadn't been great, so I wanted to show her what the city really has to offer. I’m happy to say Blue on Water delivered beyond expectations. From the moment we arrived, our host and server, Kristina, made us feel incredibly welcome. She was attentive, friendly, and really helped create a wonderful dining experience for us.nnFor dinner, we ordered the Adobo Spiced Wings and the Beef Burger with a side of sweet potato fries. The wings were absolutely delicious — perfectly crispy with a flavorful, mildly spicy glaze topped with crunchy sesame seeds and chopped scallions. The burger was equally outstanding, juicy and full of flavor, paired beautifully with the crispy sweet potato fries. We also enjoyed a glass of white wine, which complemented the meal nicely.nnOverall, the food, service, and atmosphere combined for a flawless evening. My friend was thoroughly impressed, and it was wonderful to see her enjoy herself so much after a few disappointing outings elsewhere. Blue on Water continues to set the bar high for quality dining in St. John’s. I can’t wait for our next visit!

My partner and I had a nice dinner here for her birthday. The food and service were some of the best we have experienced in the city - especially in the heart of downtown where there is so much choice.nnOur server was very quick to check in with us and offer some great recommendations. There weren't many vegetarian options, but thankfully the staff were more than happy to accommodate. The mushroom arancini, tacos, and fries were excellent. My partner had a steak chef's cut with mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes - everything was packed with flavor and very well balanced in terms of seasoning and portion size.nnWe were also sat in a corner of the restaurant that offered a more intimate setting while you could still feel the bustle of the restaurant. It was very nice and recommended for anyone who prefers that type of setting. The music and chatter never drowned out our conversation whatsoever either. The handful of times I have been here have always proved that the food is spectacular, but the seats were more uncomfortable from what I previously recall. People likely spend a couple hours on average dining here, and after roughly an hour, sitting was slightly more uncomfortable than most restaurants I've been to. I can't say for sure what a booth would have been like for comfort, but the benches and chairs even though upholstered didn't add to the enjoyment of our experience.nnWhile you shouldn't be disappointed with their breakfast or dinner menu, the dessert menu is quite limited. My partner and I love a good sweet treat to top off a meal, and the two options they had weren't really options we wanted to try. Personally speaking, if they had maybe one or two more options like a creme brulee, torte, or pie, this would be a very hard restaurant to beat from start to finish.nnHaving said that and as mentioned before, the service was amazing, the food was beyond delicious, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. These are all very good reasons to check this place out. The professionalism and friendliness of the staff in combination with the quality, care, and confidence placed into the menu really makes this a must visit for brunch or dinner!

I booked a room for a week on a business trip.nThe room was tasteful and comfortable, and the food at the restaurant was delicious.nHowever, the best part of my stay was the staff.nEvery employee I interacted was warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. I look forward to staying here again.

We just ate there today!! I absolutely love this place. The ambiance, the service, the food was all amazing!! All of us had different dishes and everyone remarked on how good the food was. The eggs Benedict with smoke salmon with avocado and mandarin oranges was to die for. The desert, goa cheese tort with basil chaniltty lace cream and black peppercorns was so unique and delicious. This place was recommended by my niece and I could not have been more happy with her choice. The sever, wish I could remember her name was awesome, first time I was more than happy to pay a generous tip.

Excellent service! I mistakenly ordered an item that had an ingredient I am allergic to. The kitchen quickly replaced with an item I could eat. Did not charge me extra and even reduced the amount of my meal. Great customer service. I keep bringing my dates here for dinner.
