I didn’t know what to expect from the hotel as the reservation was made for me. Check in was efficient and staff were friendly. The lobby was welcoming and comfortable. My room was bright, decor was modern and comfortable, and it provided everything I needed. As a coffee lover, the Nespresso machine brought a smile to my face. My favourite detail was the Puffin window between the bathroom and room. Bed was comfy. The swivel chair by the window was awesome. The control pad for lights, blinds, and temperature was amazing! I want this at home! The desk was practical and provided a great place to write my postcards. I had a city view room, but was pleasantly surprised I also could view the harbour. My family had a surprise waiting for me in the room, the staff easily accommodated this.nThe bathroom was beautiful, and the shampoo and soaps provided were great quality.nEvery time I approached the front desk staff they were friendly and helpful. The retail area was small but well stocked with snacks, drinks, and gift items. The lobby was comfortable to sit it for and rest between outings, and to eat the delicious scones and latte from the cafe. Also the colourful patio had comfortable seating for when weather permitted.nLocation could not be surpassed. I walked almost everywhere. I had an early check out, requested a wake up call, and was happy it was a person, not a recording. Desk staff arranged by taxi the day before, which made my morning easy.nI would absolutely stay here again, and would love to try another Alt hotel on future travels.
Very nice hotel. Convenient location in downtown Saint John's close to all of the best spots. The rooms are nice, although there was a strange tinted window type thing between the bathroom and main room. The outdoor seating has a great view of the harbour. There's a cool, small gym, but I wish there was a pool too. Nice, but I hope you're not broke.
So happy we choose the Alt hotel St.John's for our first time in Newfoundland. The location is PERFECT, you are within walking distance to almost everything, the hotel looks brand new, the rooms are nice, a little small but very clean and most importantly you will never experience customer service like this anywhere else. What can I say, just WOW!! The staff at the Alt St. John's are absolutely incredible, they go above and beyond and will make your stay a memorable one. A very special thank you to Jenna, what an amazing person she is, her kindness is like nothing we have experienced anywhere, she was extremely helpful and accommodating and you guys are very lucky to have her!! I would also like to thank Bailey for her services, she was beyond friendly, extremely helpful and was very welcoming from the moment we checked in. Incredible staff at this hotel, thank you all for our unforgettable stay, we will be back !!
We stayed here last night because a friend recommended it as a good place. First if you have a large suv or truck you’re not fitting in the underground parking. We had to park down the street. There is no handicap parking or walkway so if you’re disabled in any way look for a different hotel. My father is disabled and we had a hell of a time getting around here. Now a positive note, the room was very nice and high tech and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. We had a beautiful view of the harbour. We went for breakfast in the morning and I have to say it was the best breakfast I’ve ever had at a hotel. Amazing food. Staff at check it were very friendly and helpful as well. I would have liked to give 5 stars for this hotel but with the lack of parking and no accessible for the price of a room 3 stars is where I’m at. Sorry I didn’t get any photos on this one.
This was the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in! They had amazing staff they were all so nice and helpful, and everything was super clean. Great use of technology, I loved the control panel in the room with the lights/blinds and the texting the front desk with any questions/requests. It’s in a great central location, right along Water Street so everything is within walking distance and I could explore the city to my heart’s content. Beds were comfortable, great water pressure, lighting, and décor. This hotel was amazing and they also didn’t charge too much in June/July, it was very reasonable and had packages with parking. I recommend this hotel to everyone who asks for a hotel rec in St. John’s, will definitely be back!
