Surprised by the wide selection of baked goods and warm cafe foods. Be sure for dessert try their compost cookie! This lil cafe also serves as a grocery store carrying wide selection of dry goods, frozen, to go meals, food cans and jars.
Fantastic bakery and boutique store. Very busy on the weekend. Bought a gift strawberry and fig balsamic reduction for a freind while I was waiting on line to order. They have a small collection of cook books, olive oils, vinegars and other fun gifts and authentic good. I ordered their ham and cheese croissant and their pizza. Both were absolutely delicious. I ordered the pecan brownie as well I was a tad disappointed that the crusty part against the pan wasn't cut off however people may like this portion of the brownie. A service was reasonably quick despite the long lineup to order. Kudos to the staff for the fantastic baked goods.
This is the absolute best place to get a pastry or twelve. The Brie cheese croissants and the marscapone berry and cream croissants are worth the stop any day.
We got the Palermo Grilled Cheese and Calabria Panini. Both were exceptionally made, relatively quickly, and also came with a crisp healthy salad on the side. They were both grilled, cheese melted and very gooey. We also got the Pecan Caramel Bar, that was out of this world. It was large enough to split between two, the caramel and toffee would melt in your mouth.
Food is great but the coffee/ espresso drinks are very over priced. We ordered a mocha and a macchiato and both were very small and over $6 each. My husband wasn't even sure he had the right drink. Perhaps it's meant to be authentic Italian but we aren't in Italy and there are better values to be had in other cafes, like Tonelli's deli, Marigold cafe, even Starbucks. So this definitely a deterrent for returning.
Excellent pastries and breakfast! The only negative is the location. It can be hard to find a parking spot and it can be hard to get back out on to West Saanich Rd. They have a new location nearby that I'm looking forward to trying.
Breakfast, coffee and baked goods are delicious but was disappointed with seating availability as people were saving seats before taking orders. As well, the customer service wasnt very friendly. No one was smiling or looked like they enjoyed their job there.
Cute little converted house turned cafe, I wanted to try everything on the menu! I opted for the cheese and ham croissant which was extra flaky, buttery and just the right amount of crisp along the edges. They also have a section inside the cafe featuring cute artisanal knick-knacks, cookbooks, and Italian ingredients.
What so excited to have bakery item and a latte.WAITED 30 MIN , Somehow order got missed... Getting a refund was a slow painful experience...Sadly we will not return. At most this order should have only taken 5 or 10 minutes. There was absolutely no offer of any compensation whatsoever which I thought was terrible business practice
Not up to normal standard. Coffee and a cookie. Coffee took a ridiculously long time with staff standing around chatting and not seeming very engaged with customers.
