The service was really good, the restaurant was clean and there was a lot of parking out front. The food that was meant to be mild was a little hot which inhibited the full flavours of the meal to come through. This restaurant offers items from the menu or the buffet, but there are not a lot of choices for vegans. On the date of our visit, the kitchen made a special batch of eggplant for us to make up for the lack of options on the buffet. We liked that this restaurant was open late, and that it can accommodate large groups quite easily. We've been to Modern Indian twice now, and both times have been just OK.
Visited the Modern India Restaurant today, the food was delicious and they offer a buffet system, in which you can eat all you want for a standard reasonable price. They offer a variety of dishes such as veggies, meats and even desserts. The customer service was great, they take good care of their customers. Self-serve for buffet and they also offer free water. Yes you read it right this restaurant does *NO CHARGE For WATER* best thing i found at only this restaurant. Eat and Enjoy!!!
This place is a hidden budget gem, I just recently discovered this place and had the opportunity to eat here two days in a row. I was very surprised to see more vegetarian options then meat. Amazingly price buffet with always fresh foods, constantly being replenished. I would highly recommend this place definitely worth a visit.
This place was full of surprises and worth visiting. Different types of items in buffet for both vegetarian and non vegetarian. Directly out from the kitchen serving fresh, hot food. The main thing is, this place is pocket friendly for the buffet. Worth spending 10.99$ for lunch-buffet or 15.99 for dinner-buffet. Very responsive staff with friendly nature. Great customer service!
My wife and I had a lunch buffet at Modern India. We are vegetarians and the choice of food at the buffet was extensive. Along with salad, there were also other Indian starters such as Pani Puri and pakoras. The buffet was laid out such that the meat and non meat dishes were placed on separate tables. This is important for vegetarians as it practically eliminates the possibility of any mix up. The food was tasty and spices were well balanced. Even the dessert choices were plenty. The buffet was priced very reasonably at $12 plus tax. Very reasonable when considering that at other Indian restaurants in Cambridge you are charged this price for one third the selection.
I’ve been here few times now. There are plenty of vegetarian options and different curries. You can’t beat their buffet price of $11-14. The food is always fresh and tastes great. Service is prompt. I highly recommend if you are in the KW area.
I'm doing you a favor if your reading this... I went to this establishment for dinner buffet last Wednesday with little expectations. I've read a fair share of reviews from google, so I expected "okay" tasting food, not so great service and a decently clean environment. I went in and no one was there to great you so we took a seat. Then we got up for their food and there was very little to choose from. In my opinion, the best thing to get is the rice, curry chicken, naan bread and ice cream. The server didn't ask us if we wanted any drinks but she did bring water. The kitchen staff didn't seem very happy or maybe they just always have an angry look on their faces. The washroom was very dirty and would definitely not be using it. The butter chicken tasted bland and my friend and I thought there might be pumpkin pure in it. The tandoori chicken had the look but there was definitely no flavor. Honestly, for being an indian resturaunt, you would expect food with lots of spices and flavors but this place had no flavor. Yes, it is very cheap but for the quality of food here, there is no price that will get me to eat here again. My advice to the owners would be to try other 5 star indian resturaunts and try to match the quality of their food with yours. I also feel like a lot of the 5 star reviews here are fake.
although they rise the price by one dollar. Buy it still very cheap. All you can eat lunch 9. 99 and dinner 11.99. I mean ALL YOU CAN EAT. I am not professional to indian food. But i think the food here is worth the price. I like the butter chicken, goat and nang is great. Icrcream is soso. But i am not complaining since this place is very cheap.
Cheap and best Indian food in the area. The buffet system provides variety every time. We have also done catering from here for house party, everyone loved the food. The food was delivered to us in containers which kept the food warm until it was served. Looking forward to use their services again.
We trued their Chana Bhatura and Gulab Jamun...Chana Bhatura was delicious, but we were disappointed with the Gulab Jamun, as they served them cold like they forgot to heat them up. But overall good food experience with them.
